I know. Sorry to do that to ya - typing it made my fingers to numb for a good 15 minutes

Ooh...I'm drinking water as we speak...still wishing I had something sweet

the book i'm reading right now (rednecks and bluenecks) includes some interesting discussion about commercial radio, especially its hand in the dixie chicks controversy.

F**K commercial radio!!!

Seriously, I hate it. I mean I listen now and again, but generally? they're awful. And the bottom line is absolutely money. NOthing else.

I worked in commercial radio for two years...not for any of the biggies - but it sucked just as bad. I HATED it...it was one of the worst jobs I've had.

Also - just recently CC made huge cuts in Rochester...a friend of mine got laid off..she had seniority, was highly qualified etc..BUT since she'd been there so long she was a more expensive employee so they sacked her. Assholes.

Oh - and I think I forgot to mention, I hate Commercial Radio!!!

yeah, i effing hate commercial radio, too. that sucks about your friend.

the only radio i listen to anymore is public/community radio. my favorite station around here is 91.3 WAPS. they're one of the few stations that still has theme-oriented programming, like my personal favorite show "pickin' the grass" (bluegrass) on monday nights.

^^
Very cool looking station! I like the diversity in their music programming AND they run The World Cafe

I pretty much always have a cd in my car - or I listen to my station...I wish I had a stereo in which I could plug in my mp3 player, but I'm po' so that's a while off.

Hey - did your brother make it in for Thanksgiving?

Hmm..is fm doohickey the official name? The only problem is all those accessories are mostly for iPod..which I don't have...so I want a stereo with an audio jack that you can plug anything into...

Great! Glad your brother made it in

I'm ripping Stumble into Grace and All the Roadrunning as I type

Scratch that $19.99 But it's still $25 with shipping.

Stupid Amazon...they ship free on items $25 and over...apparently $24.99 is just not good enough...and sadly there's nothing on Amazon I can buy for a penny

Oh well...I'm still gettin' one...and I hope it works well...the reviews are mixed - but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

haha, i know ... i hate that about amazon. i usually just end up adding some cheap book to my order. i know that's what they want, but whatev.

i've noticed that reviews for those things are always mixed. i think a lot of people have way high expectations. you're not going to get CD quality sound. it's not terrible sound, it's just not CD quality. and if you live in an area where the FM dial is saturated, you may have difficulties. just things to think about. if the tape player in my car worked, i would definitely go with a tape adapter before the FM transmitter, but for some reason, those tape adapters don't work in my car.
