Slang for slang's sake is okay with me, I guess. For me, it's more of an issue when slang and/or ignorant speech ("boughten" "whole nother") replaces the correct speech that drives me crazy.

One time my dad said 50% of people are stupid. I asked him where he got that figure, right out of his butt? Well, yeah - there and an educated guess via life experience. After this election I told him he was right, except it was a bit more than 50%.

I live on a mountain, I didnt say I lived in the Boonies! Im just up the hill from a College town for Cripe's sake! besides, I grew up in the Bay Area, surrounded by culture and erudition! Puh Leez!

as for how many people voted for Dumbya, I dont believe it. I think he RIGGED the freakin machines.
