To be serious ( which is very unlike me, I know) but even I look at Stevie on the RAL tour and wince. At the time, I don't think any of us knew how bad off Stevie was. I still remember being shocked when I read in the paper that Stevie was in Betty Ford. I really did think to myself, " You mean Stevie has a drug problem?????". But if you look at Stevie on her Wild Heart tour in '83 and then look at her just two years later in '85, it's shocking. Ofcourse you can see the changes starting in the RAL promo pics and in the videos too.

Pictures like this one make me wonder if Stevie really is human.

And as I implied earlier, even if lines were erased, etc., this woman still exudes youth like no one else.

It's strange to me how often people say this. Because - And I'm just being honest - Among my friends and acquaintances, at that exact point in time - she was notorious. I think it must literally have varied from place to place around the country, in regards to how much people knew about what was going on and the stories that were circulating.

I could be wrong of course - I mean, it's hard to tell these days - But I personally don't think these are "doctored." For one thing, look at the electronic equipment towards the back - that's a little hard to see, blurry, etc. (Or at least, it is "on my end" - my monitor's a little funky with dark images sometimes.) Anyway assuming it shows that way for everyone, I think if they had "cleaned it up" then they would have attended to that too - from what I've seen, that would be "standard fare" - to do the entire picture.

She's perfect. I don't care if she was half gremlin or something. She'd still be perfect.

There is also a pic in Tusk where she looks just like Brittany. I think Brittany could have played an awesome Stevie, if only she was still here.

Oh I look back at my fandom in the early 80's and I'm shocked at how naive I was about Stevie. As far as hearing any stories? Oh those came later.
