Sean to perform solo in New york City 1/9 also one new articl
I have 2 new updatea and about a upcoming performance by Sean Lennon solo in New York City. Also one article about this band Sean has performed with onstage. I just saw Sean,Nico signed on and reading his message board,a few minutes. But he doesn't respond that often to any threads anymore.I think he is just to busy. Also it must be kind of weird reading ones own board.Seeing what fans are saying about you.But he seems to really care about about all of fans.
Sean Lennon Performing at ' The Stone ' New York City 2/9/2011 This looks like its just Sean performing. The Stone is a not-for-profit performance space dedicated to the EXPERIMENTAL and AVANT-GARNT. The Stone : New York City Wednesday February 9, 2011 10 pm CONSORTIUM MUSICUM Sean Lennon (various instruments) Greg Saunier (drums) Sean Lennon (of The Ghost Of A Saber Tooth Tiger) Greg Saunier (of Deerhoof) http://www.thestonenyc.com/calendar.php?month=1 http://www.thestonenyc.com/index.html Article about band Deerhoof with Sean Lennon and his Mom mentioned. Timeout Tokyo January 24, 2011 Deerhoof Vs Time Out Takes us a while to connect with Satomi — a case of confused messages and blurred international datelines; inevitable, really, when you consider how scattered the band members themselves are. As things currently stand, Greg Saunier (drummer and founder member) lives in New York, guitarist John Dieterich is based in Albuquerque, second guitarist Ed Rodriguez (and his dog) calls Portland home, while Satomi has recently left her Tokyo abode for a year on the road promoting new album Deerhoof Vs Evil. We caught up with the bass-playing vocalist outside John's house, where they are currently holed up in the basement preparing to take on the world. http://www.timeout.jp/en/tokyo/featu...of-Vs-Time-Out I just remembered to post these photographs from that radio interview they did in Austin,Texas a few days ago Some photographs taken inside the studio from the radio interview and performance with The Ghost of A Saber Tooth Tiger Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Mull -- appeared live on the air on KUT-FM (90.5) in Austin, Texas, January 19, 2011 slideshow http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-n...=28745121#main http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-n...=28745136#main http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-n...=28745126#main http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-n...=28745131#main http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-n...ir-listen-here Last edited by msLinds; 01-27-2011 at 02:03 AM.. |

New updates on Sean Lennon and The Goastt 1/28/
I have a few new updates, video's and articles.About Sean Lennon and the Goastt.
The Ghost of A Saber Tooth Tiger video from appearance on TV with CONAN Thursday, January 27, 2011 Great performance from the Sean and Charlotte and their trumpet player on Conan. Thanks for link rdebranski. Here is the actual embedded link, that goes right to Goast performance. Conan: The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger "Jardin du Luxembourg.. http://www.tbs.com/video/conan.jsp?o...f=sharethisUrl Second City Style February 11, 2011 Rebecca Minkoff Invites Sean Lennon's GOASTT to Perform at Runway Debut Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl of GOASTT It seems MUGLER's Nicola Formichetti was onto something when he tapped Lady Gaga to perform at his runway debut. Now, Rebecca Minkoff is bringing the idea stateside by making her official runway debut with the help of musical duo GOASTT. Held on Feb. 11, Minkoff will show her full line at Lincoln Center’s Theater, with musical accompaniment from Sean Lennon and Charlotte Muhl, who make up the band. “Originally when I was concepting the collection, a lot of the inspiration was photos of Charlotte,” said Minkoff. “So our CMO reached out, and they were interested!” Muhl will wear a Rebecca Minkoff look during the show, and Minkoff anticipates the duo will sing about two songs. For Minkoff fans who can't make it to the tents, the designer has already confirmed that entire show will be simulcast on Facebook and minkette.com http://secondcitystyle.typepad.com/s...r-runway-.html EDGAR ELMORE Chats with SEAN LENNON By Media fashion.ocm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKn2xbey1fM The Portland Mercury January 27, 2011 Down the Rabbit Hole* Haunted by the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger THE GHOST of a Saber Tooth Tiger is a mouthful. The band name does not flow freely when used in conversation, and creates even heftier roadblocks when assembled anywhere in the middle of a sentence. Though, it is notably peculiar that when viewed acrostically it spells "GOASTT," which when pronounced, reads like "ghost." Call it a stretch, but after spending ample time in the world of Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl's Acoustic Sessions, it seems the least bizarre of observations to be made. http://www.portlandmercury.com/portl...nt?oid=3300088 |

Two New Beatle and John Lennon related updates
I have two new Beatle and John Lennon related updates.
Canadian Woman First To Graduate With Beatles Degree The Associated Press Wednesday Jan. 26, 2011 9:35 LONDON — A Canadian has become the first person to graduate from a Liverpool university's master's program on The Beatles. But Mary-Lu Zahalan-Kennedy says she wasn't a Fab Four fanatic when she started the degree.Zahalan-Kennedy, a music teacher at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont., was the only one in the program who "didn't know every intimate detail" about the Beatles' lives, she said."I mean, I certainly liked their music, but I hadn't read every book ever written on them," she said Wednesday in a phone interview from Liverpool. Now, of course, she knows enough about them to teach a course, which she intends to do at Sheridan in the fall. Zahalan-Kennedy said she is working on an undergraduate popular music course that will draw heavily on what she learned in the program.A former Miss Canada finalist, she signed up for the degree at Liverpool Hope University when it launched in 2009 and graduated Wednesday. She is one of 12 full-time students enrolled. The program, "The Beatles, Popular Music and Society," is considered by the university to be the first of its kind.It involves much more than "just being a Beatles fan and listening to their music all day," Zahalan-Kennedy said."It's really about history and genres of music and semiotics, which is the language of music and ... how communities are forged with different identities happening because of the way music is delivered," she said. The course also deals with how the port city of Liverpool helped shape the group's identity -- the university is based in the band's hometown in northwestern England. While she doesn't have a favourite song, Zahalan-Kennedy said Paul McCartney is her favourite Beatle. http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/Entertainm...degree-110126/ Collider.com Mark Waters in Talks to Direct Beatles Time-Travel Comedy " GET BACK " January 28th, 2011 Here’s something I never thought I’d say: director Mark Waters (Mean Girls) is apparently in negotiations to direct a Beatles-themed time-travel comedy called Get Back. Written by Chris McCoy, the movie centers on two Beatles-fans who travel back in time to prevent John Lennon from ever meeting Yoko Ono, thereby preventing the Beatles from ever breaking up. It’s Back to the Future meets…….something. Waters recently just wrapped shooting Mr. Popper’s Penguins with Jim Carrey. Variety reports that he hopes to start filming Get Back late this summer in London. Not much else is known about the project at this time. Now, who should play the fab four? http://collider.com/mark-waters-get-back-beatles/73265/ |

Man, I LOVED their Conan appearance!
Thanks for the links again, msLinds. Um, that Beatles movie sounds a little odd. I don't understand why people think Yoko's appearance in John's life was this horribly negative thing. From the man himself it was the exact opposite, but whatevs... People choose to believe what they want to, and frankly I'm the kind of person who will see a Beatles-related film if it's well made so I won't completely write it off- as fictional as it may be. Speaking of well-made Beatles-related films...how amazing is "Nowhere Boy?" Got it and watched it tonight. I had seen it in the theatre of course but...wow. John had a TOUGH childhood/young adult life, period. It wasn't normal, yet it was still filled with love. The movie is AMAZING. Any lurkers out there: watch it! It will give you an even deeper understanding of what made this man the way he was. BTW: msLinds, have you any idea about when Julian's new album is supposed to be out? OR even where he is because he's being quite quiet (like LB a bit) when he's supposedly preparing a new album...well I guess the surprise will be worth it. |

Three New Goastt update 1/30 and one video from Portland
I agree Nico about your feelings about this so called comedy time traveling movie being filmed. Its a shame and sad that people actually still blame Yoko for breaking up the Beatles.I know Nowwhere Boy is out on DVD Now.I hope to order my copy on Amazon very soon.As for Julian, from his Facebook page he says his new album is suppose to come out sometime in 2011.But the album has been done for a couple of years now.So who knows he will release itHe recently did post on his Facebook page he was tired and had been traveling for months and wanted a little time to go home and relax for a while. Sean and Charlotte's next new album is going to be called " Victorian Cyborg '.That is suppose to come out sometime in 2011.It sounds like its pretty much done. They said in interviews they are still doing stuff to it,untill they are happy with it.But I will be letting you all know here. When I hear about a release date for it in the future.Well The Goastt tour ended this past saturday. But I am sure they will keep busy and doing other performances to in the near future.I have one update and 3 new video' tonight.Everyone have a safe and and good week and take care

Two New Sean Lennon and Goastt Article 1/31
I thought I posted this new Sean Lennon and Goastt article here. But I don't see it.
So here is one new update.I also have one new article that is about a upcoming Sean Lennon and Goastt performance this upcoming summer of 2011. Mainly Music Meanderings Review: Sean Lennon/Charlotte Kemp Muhl’s Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger @ The Woods (Portland, OR – 1/28/11) and photographs Sean Lennon‘s last studio album, Friendly Fire, was brilliant. Not only was it chock full of great pop songs, but it also came with a DVD with a full album’s worth of cinematic music videos… for the entire album. Back in 2008, his new band Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (with Charlotte Kemp-Muhl) had a presence on MySpace… and put out some songs that eventually blossomed into the debut album – Acoustic Sessions (out in late 2010). They hit the road this past December & January, winding up with their last few shows here on the West Coast. http://jazzsick.wordpress.com/2011/0...astt-portland/ Sean Lennon among performers to appear at Hollywood Bowl in 2011 January 25, 2011 7:06 The Hollywood Bowl's just announced preliminary 2011 concert lineup will include an appearance by Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger with Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl. The duo will appear at the iconic venue*Aug. 28 in a tribute to French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg. Also appearing will be Jean Claude Vannier, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, China Forbes and Beck, plus additional guests to be announced. The show will be part of a three-concert World Festival series co-sponsored by eclectic radio station KCRW-FM*in June, July and August. The July 24 Rickey Minor's Global Sound Revue program will feature Stevie Wonder. *Subscriptions for the Bowl's season go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday.*The duo performed in Los Angeles just*last Sunday at the Troubadour Club. http://www.examiner.com/beatles-in-n...wood-bowl-2011 |

One New Sean Lennon Article and 1 new video for 1/29
I have one new Sean Lennon and Goastt article to post tonight. And one video to post
Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl Charm the Croc With Sarcasm--and Bailey's Jan. 29,2011 When it comes to famous rock-and-roll kids, few intrigue the public as much as Sean Lennon, who performed Saturday at the Crocodile with his band The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger. Watching the man set up gear and tweak his drum kit before the show captivated the crowd--a mixed bunch of old hippies and 30-something music geeks--with a curious respect. It was like being in the presence of some kind of bohemian rock royalty. http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/rever...ghost_of_a.php The GOASTT - India - The Crocodile, Seattle WA January 29, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4v4Md...layer_embedded Last edited by msLinds; 02-01-2011 at 11:23 PM.. |

Finally!!!
1) Favorite Yoko Ono song
Can I please do a top fifteen? I really sincerely love Yoko. 1. Walking on Thin Ice 2. What a Bastard the World Is 3. It Happened 4. Mind Train 5. I'm Going Away Smiling 6. Toyboat 7. Goodbye Sadness 8. Revelations 9. Nobody Sees Me Like You Do 10. Listen, the Snow is Falling 11. New York Woman 12. Have You Seen a Horizon Lately 13. Hell in Paradise 14. Yang Yang 15. The Sun is Down 2) Favorite John appearance in a Beatles movie All of them, come on. Ok...um when he's running at the beginning of A Hard Day's Night and he turns and sees George has tripped and fallen and he laughs and keeps running, the You've Got To Hide Your Love Away performance in Help, the spaghetti scene + I Am the Walrus performance in Magical Mystery Tour (the only two things I liked about that film actually), the preconception that the John on Yellow Submarine was such a characterization of the real John, all his ad-libs on Let It Be but especially this: 3) Favorite Sean Lennon song There are soooooo many Sean songs I am in love with right now. I could easily pick Spaceship or Heart and Lung, or Dead Meat, Tomorrow, On Again Off Again, Headlights, everything by his new band, any random thing he did with Cibo Matto. But I am going to have to go with this piece of absolute stunning beauty: 4) Favorite Julian Lennon song So many! I love Cole's Song, Crucified, And She Cries, Let Me Be, Take Me Home, Saltwater, and....yeah the list goes on. But here's the one I always go back to: 5) Favorite John song on Revolver I'm Only Sleeping 6) Favorite John vocal on a song um, no. I can't be required to answer this. Are you kidding? The man had one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard in my life. But just to be random, this song is my current favorite of his at the moment and he sounds amazing here so eat it up: I simply can not. They are too different. I love each of them for different reasons but I suppose I'd have to choose Nobody... not because it's the more accessible but because I love the sentiment of this song, and the feeling behind it. He's not quite as sinister, though I dig that other side of him as well. 8) Favorite John quote John Lennon was one of the most fascinating minds of the 20th century. I can't pull one quote by him and call it my all-time favorite because he said so many things over his lifetime that rang true and still ring true for me and millions of others who really felt where he was coming from. Here's one example I've always loved: "When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." 9) Favorite book written by John Forever and always In His Own Write. A literary classic. 10) Favorite John Lennon video from "Lennon Legend" video collection: Mind Games, Instant Karma, Imagine, Love, and this one: Yay! It took forever because I simply don't have that much time but after a month or so I finally completed your survey Mr. 3rd World Man. Last edited by Nico; 02-02-2011 at 08:12 PM.. |

And what's "in" for Spring 2011? JOHN LENNON glasses! check it out Here's some random famous chicks wearing John Lennon glasses: [img] Isn't it kind of sweet how John lives on in 20-something wannabe hippy chicks? I mean, even if they don't necessarily know his/Beatles music that well they have some knowledge of his fashion sense. |
