Why are they called joshua trees? My dad explained it a long time ago when we drove from Vegas to LA. I know it has a Biblical reference but I can't remember what. (And dad's been gone for 17 years, so I can't ask him.)

Default Our vacation a few weeks ago.

My daughter and son-in-law lives and works in Germany. We were there for three weeks to see and meet our new granddaughter and other grandchildren.

Thanks Pip. They were both taken on a Sony Cybershot - they retail in the UK now for under £100 and are pretty good (but a bit limited).

These (and the last I'll post til the Spring) were taken in the last 24 hours on a Canon EOS 5D.

Did you get the camera for Christmas? I have an old Canon EOS film camera and will eventually upgrade to the digital. Why did you choose the 5D over the Rebel? I agree the pics are really good.
