I think she looks like an alien onstage and in most pictures but I'm now convinced that it's just bad angles and harsh lighting. Her features are so much softer in person... she's pretty and not frightening up close

Exactly. I'm pretty sure she has hyperthyroidism with that thin frame & bug-ish eyes. The bright stage lighting & harsh makeup doesn't help at all. Very Morticia Adamms. But in the candid you posted she looks really pretty.

She's so sweet. Her external appearance belies her personality. I would love to see her soften her look. She may have a Stand Back look to keep people at a distance.

When I met up with her backstage in Vegas in '98 she said "forgive me I'm in my bus jammies" but of course she looked amazing! She's got a great body. She had on a ribbed long sleeved knit shirt and velvet leggings, I believe. Very chic bus jammies!
