- sharks

- I don't know if anybody has read The Painted Bird, but the brief description of the torture with the glass on the stomach is something I wish I had never read, & I won't subject anyone here to the full description.

- not having money to treat some big illness (I don't mean to sound political)

- having to walk (or dance) in front of a large group of people - as in, I can talk in front of a group, but the walk up before the talk scares me. I thought I was the only one until I read that Clark Gable had this same fear. (And I know, I know - You, sir, are no Clark Gable.)

home intrusion
public speaking
something happening to mufasa
my brother, mom, or dad being hurt or worse
religious fundies
sharks
credit card debt

i used to be afraid of heights but skiing got me over that. and flying got me over my fear of flying.

I definitely had that fear when I lived alone. I don't have it now that I'm married, but if I really stop and think about it, I can't imagine anything worse than someone breaking into my home and attacking me. Talk about PTSD afterward; it must be devastating to have your one supposedly safe place shattered.

exactly. omg that just gave me chills. when I didn't live alone, i felt safe. didn't matter who it was that was with me, but anytime i was left alone, even for one night, i'd freak. i think it also has to do with being alone when it happens. at least with someone else, you can kinda depend on each other to get through it, but if you're on your own it's much scarier. not that I would want someone else to be hurt as well, but all of this is hypothetical.

OMG. You have the same fear as me!!! Nobody I talk to *ever* states this as a fear, lol. Now, the thing is, I don't know where you live but here we don't *get* tornados really, hehe...which makes my fear of them a little strange. I've just always been petrified of them...my hometown gets a ton of tornado warnings and funnel clouds every summer, and my Lord, when I lived there, it was just not pretty when one of those would come around. Now though, I just endure a lot of Toto/Dorothy/Oz jokes.

My only other fear is flying. I hate it I hate it I hate it. I did plenty enough of it during the Lindsey tour, lol, and I'd do it again given the opportunity (hey Liddy, give me the opportunity), but it takes a LOT for me to get on a plane, and I'm totally white-knuckle while doing so.
