I bought my first one about just as long ago (early 90s) but it was priced 50 guilders then.. but that was at a second hand record store, they knew what they were selling.
Second one just a few years ago here in Groningen, couldn't let it lie there. About.. 25 guilders?

Got the gatefold copy for $25, had to order it from abroad because there's no chance of finding a copy in Finland.

Spotted a still sealed copy in Greenwich Market about 15 years ago, at a really cool record stall that specialised in old records and nearly had a heart attack (the record had a near mythical status to me!) . Wish that place still existed.
I think I paid £25 for it. Since then I've seen quite a few copies for a lot less but never in as pristine condition as my mint copy (well near mint now - I've played it a few times).

Yeah, because I was desperate to hear it!
That was why more important to me than keeping it mint.
I was also about 14 at the time and not really concerned with records keeping their value.
I can't say I regret it.

The first one I bought in December 1973; I paid $2.25. (because that's how much albums WERE then) Lost it in a bet a few years ago.

Got another LP (the original gatefold cover; NEW) about 1983 for $8 (which I thought was an outrage) They even wanted $20 for the NON-gatefold cover, USED!! Needless to say, never went back to THAT store again.

I have two versions of the album that I've burnt for myself onto CD-R. A single disc (the album + 4 demos and the live FM "Frozen Love") and a double disc (disc 1: the album + the live BN tracks from Tuscaloosa, AL that are circulating); disc 2: the demos supposedly from the BN years).

I just have an unofficial CD, which I guess works just fine until (or if) an official copy ever comes out.

Wow. And, you were already a Fleetwood Mac fan. One wonders what you thought about the union of the two bands when you first heard about it. Also, did you hear any similarities between the two bands? Enquiring minds want to know!

I thought the album was ok...nothing spectacular. Didn't hear anything "Fleetwood Mac"-ish about them at the time...of course, NOW the Buckingham Nicks album is pretty much "the great lost Mac album".

Liked the cover though. Main reason I bought the album. (whattaya want? I was 17 at the time!) I had NO idea who they were, I worked in a record store at the time and was just browsing through the record bins, putting misfiled albums back where they belonged, when I came upon the album. Asked the manager if I could open it for in-store play, she said, "sure"...liked the album, bought it. Ok, I lied when I said I paid $2.25...that was the sticker price...I actually got it with my employee discount...so I paid about $1.50 for it.

I was really shocked when I found out they'd joined FMac (don't know if I was so much shocked that they JOINED or that Bob Welch LEFT...probably 99% the latter)...I thought, "Hey! I know THEM!" So, the white album was pretty much an expected sound for me...Buckingham Nicks with a few Christine McVie tunes mixed in.

It was those LIVE shows in '75 & '76 that got me hooked on the new lineup, not necessarily the album itself.
