By the way this thread is bring back so many memories. "Come Undone" By Duran Duran takes me back to when I filed for divorce and "I am only happy when it rains" was my sons (who was 4 at the time) favorite song.

Ahh, Missing, that song will forever remind me of Mardis Gras in '94. And Billy. Good times.

Volcano Girls by Veruca Salt is another killer nineties song, too.

I agree, has to be Smells, that is the first song that popped into my head. It really did "define a generation" (I just yacked on myself). I really identified with these guys as I was finishing up college and felt like I'd been fed a load of crap about "work hard, go to college, get a great job" while my prospects seemed bleak. However, I was clinically depressed at the time without realizing it which is the real reason I identified so closely with that dark music. That said, when grunge was gone, I was so glad. I couldn't stand another brooding song. I even turned off the radio for a while because it was sooooo flat. I was so angry with Cobain for shooting himself that every time Nirvana came on the radio I would change the channel, for 10 years! Now I will listen occasionally but I don't pop in my CDs ever. It was just so sad. I guess too, it reminds me too much of feeling like sh*t (or, rather, nothing at all). Fuggeddaboudit!

Ugh..
I wish I could erase the entire 90's decade from my brain. LOL
Non-Mac related - Smells Like Teen Spirit - the anger, the hatred, the grunge, the dopey-ness, just all of that BS. Mac related - not sure because I wasn't a fan back then, but I guess Silver Springs from The Dance would have been huge.

Oh man how could I forget that and Hole's Miss World and Doll Parts. I was one angry chic in the 90's and had the music to go along with it! 90's were the best of times/worst of times but from 90-95 the music rocked. Live, AIC, Hole, Smashing Pumpkins, Alanis, Mother Love Bone, Soundgarden, NIN....wow ~ so many memories. I dressed the part too with baby doll dresses and combat boots with flannel and I chopped my big 80's hair off and had much attitude. Remember when the Chronic by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog's albums came out. I loved that ****. Now music is so boring and predictable.
