Yeah, I think so. It was after the Grammy medley as I recall.

The chemstry between them is palpable in this performance. I will always believe they hooked up again during The Dance. Six weeks in a foreign country indeed

Bellhop, waiter, pot-ay-toe, pot-ah-toe. I'd agree if they had been in Germany for 6 weeks.

She meant they no longer spoke the language of love but knew they could relearn it

I was just messin' with y'all.

That verse is not to be taken as literal as some people do, but I'm also not sure if I completely agree with your interpretation.

I'm not so sure about that. I believe the Grammy medley came after the Brit Awards, although I don't have the exact dates. They made an appearance on German TV around the time of the Brit Awards. The host of that TV show wished them well at the Grammys. I'm pretty sure that the Grammys was the last Christine performance with Fleetwood Mac.

THis was ripped direct from my original VHS recorded and converted to MPEG1, I could not post this on YouTube as the length and file size exceeded YouTube's maximum. Included is the opening montage, George Martin Introduction, Fleetwood Mac acceptance and then performance of Go Your Own Way and Don't Stop.

enjoy..........
Thank you so much, Neil for posting this video.

As far as my timeline recalls, these were the movements in early '98 before Christine retired for good

12th Jan 1998 - Fleetwood Mac are inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

12th & 13th Jan 1998 - Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood appear on Late Night with David Letterman performing Big Love & Landslide.

24th Jan 1998 - Fleetwood Mac appears on the German TV show "Wetten Dass."and performs "Silver Springs."

27th Jan 1998 - The Making Of Rumours video was released.

9th Feb 1998 - Fleetwood Mac are honored at the UK Brit Awards, they receive an award for an Outstanding Contribution To The British Music Industry. They perform Go Your Own Way and Don't Stop.

25th Feb 1998 - Fleetwood Mac perform at the Grammy Awards, They perform a short medley of hits including Rhiannon, Don't Stop and Go Your Own Way. Fleetwood Mac are also nominated for for three Grammys including "Best Performance by Duo or Group" for Silver Springs, "Best Pop Album" for The Dance and "Best Rock Performance" for The Chain.

Very forensic, Neil. Thanks!

It's weird, because I assumed Christine stayed behind in the UK after the Brits. In fact, I am sure I read somewhere in one of her 2004 interviews that Chris thought it was her last performance. Then again, her memory of the timeline seems to be pretty hazy, as she kept on talking about Clinton's inauguration in the same breath as The Dance.

-- here we go:

"The last proper gig we did was in Atlantic City in November, 1997, but then we played at The Brits in 1998 when we got that Lifetime Achievement Award. The sound-check the night before sounded rubbish, but we pulled it off on the night. We’d already said our goodbyes on tour, so we all whizzed off in difference directions almost straight after the show"
