Believe it or not these local guys do a pretty good version. John can get that high note! http://www.hypercane.com. They cover rock songs from all eras, mostly the heavier ones but they do songs like Rick Springfields' "Love Somebody" because they're so fun! They don't do it so much as a duet though.

She hit it. It's that note man, what a climax! "Why can't we give love?"

"Thank you very much, this next song is called 'Pumped Full Of Drugs'". (- Bernard Sumner introducing "This Time Of Night" in Tokyo, May 1985)

Holy crap - what a HUGE voice. It lifts the scalp and gives me chills. I have to say also, that it makes me appreciate the Freddie Mercury version again as she imitates his scat-singing. Her singing is so clear, I never really heard all of the lyrics before. This song reminds me of high school - a rare moment of wistfulness for that time.
I like Bowie's little "go girl" at the beginning. Thanks for sharing this, and the Bowie "changes"! I tried to get some live Bowie from Dime last night (after David asked for a hit of "Changes" but the peers petered out after an hour or so.

She's so tiny, too, so it's a bit surprising when you see her holding that huge bass and letting that voice just roll out of her mouth.

Have you downloaded this one? http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=76373

Beauty and the Beast & Art Decade are particularly good. I love that era.

No, but I will - thanks for the tip! I only saw Bowie twice, in the early 80's, and I have missed all of his touring with GAD. His voice seems to have survived the years well.

oh yes, and I am currently listening to Tegan & Sara, "My Number". Again.

That's awesome, you got to see him before those ill-advised & overblown stadium tours in the late eighties. Those shows would have been truly spectacular in smaller venues, but not in stadiums.

His voice is still ace, imo. That Reality tour was great, he played so much different stuff.
