That's the first time I've ever called andro. People either see that I'm a female right off the bat,depending upon how big the men's shirt is that I have on, or I get told "sir, how may I help you?". I'll answer to either because it doesn't bother me, but my mother goes crazy if the latter happens.

My husband used to get mistaken for a girl a lot when he was younger. It did bother him. I'm glad to hear it doesn't with you, because I always like the idea of people being unable to determine that one way or the other. It challenges all sorts of their notions about gender in society which I think is important. There's an urgency with which people sometimes look at someone and ask in a panic "omg! is that a man or a woman!? I CAN'T TELL! AGH!" and it's this urgency I find fascinating. I mean, if we're at a point where we're supposed to treat men and women more or less the same in public, then where does this urgency come from? It really reveals a lot about us if/when we get freaked out by things like that. And I think that's pretty fantastic.

But I'm getting into sociobabble that has nothing to do with this topic. Sorry ISA. I should've picked up on the fact that you're younger, and teenager's genders are more likely to be confused, rather than just assuming you were rocking an andro look. I have spent too long with my head buried in the LGBT world, maybe.
