I don't like REM. I know that's blasphemous, but I just never have. And they are totally my generation, all my friends loved them. The only song i like by them (that I've heard, mind you) is Stand. I don't like MS's voice. But I love his harmony/collaborative works on such songs as "Shiny Happy People" and the Indigo Girls song...uh...I think it's "Are You On Fire" ...he's a good harmonist.

Haha. Yes, if you find songs about stumbling into pubs and hooking up with a "girl" called Lola deep

. I have their best of on CD, it's called Come Dancing With the Kinks. My favorites are Do it Again, Destroyer, Celluloid Heroes, Lola, and Better Things. They're all really good, though I prefer their 70s/80s material over their 60s stuff. I dig Stop Your Sobbing, too, but I prefer the Pretenders version.

I'm not a huge REM fan, just some of their stuff. And Kate ~ It looks fine. Just Try and darken it up a tad.

Well, actually I do think that is kind of deep. It's kind of like Debbie, and Gwen, I can find a lot of deep things within something that initially sounds shallow. I can't count the number of times I listened to Celluloid Heroes in HS. I have the Kinks greatest hits, but it's on tape, and my tape player doesn't work anymore.
