at the end of her set she's introducing David Bowie and she makes a joke that he should hire her, referencing the whole security guard issue. pretty funny!

Thought this was really cute, and had never seen it before. It's a note from Barbara to Stevie's godmother Betty. Must be the very early days, if they're still struggling to make it in NY. I loved how she wrote "maybe they will make some money one of these days". Lol. Yes, Barb. Yes they did. Anyway sorry if this has been posted before and is old news. I just thought it was adorable and it's new to me. Stevie was the "sweet, spoiled, lazy joy of her life." Awwww
The part about Stevie says: "Stevie is in New York and I hope her show is going well. Maybe they will make some money one of these days. We are still contributing to her upkeep. She is still the same sweet, spoiled, lazy joy of my life." This is the second page of the letter. |

Stevie was/is a mess. I can see Stevie trying to call home when her mother wasn't around so she could get to Jess first to ask for things. He seems to have been the easier touch.

I recall an interview years ago where she said she would always go to her father .. and gave the example of how her mother might say "You can buy 3 pairs of shoes for $21" and Stevie would say "But I want one pair of Italian sandals for $25" And then she would go to her father and he would give her the $25 because "he knew I was just like him".. ie wanting the best things. She then said her mother would find out he'd given her the money and would get mad and Barbara and Jess "wouldn't talk for two days" because of it.

I always loved this pic! I have a bootleg album from the 70's that has this pic as the cover.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think this came from an MTV special of behind the scenes of the Tango In The Night tour rehearsals.

It looks like it's from the Big Love video shoot, but not positive as I've never seen the video shown above.
I took a screen cap from the video and Mick is definitely wearing the same thing and Stevie's hair is the same, but her outfit is different (which she may have changed). Tim Last edited by badanimals87; 10-14-2012 at 11:51 AM.. |

Don't know if this was posted anywhere yet, if it was I apologize. But here's Courtney Love with Stevie at the Elton John benefit. Courtney's a massive Stevie fan, so I thought this was kind of sweet. Last edited by rhiannondontgo; 10-16-2012 at 01:33 AM.. |
