A "masterpiece," dave?? Isn't it in fact just a collection of nice songs with good singing (Steve Simels compared Stevie to the no-nonsense country belter Brenda Lee) & instrumental musicianship that is the epitome of hidebound conventionality (in other words, "professional" in the less than lauditory sense)?

The only beef I have with you (and I should note that I like you outside of these arguments), is that you dig and dig at the "Stevie Army," as you perceive them, and when you get a reaction, you then turn around and chastize them for the very behaviour you were hoping to elicit out of them in the first place. As I've said countless times -- if someone rags on the favorite artist of someone else, they are, without a doubt, going to get people lashing back at them. This is true of the fans of all contemporary artists. To expect otherwise is to be completely delusional... certainly you wouldn't punch someone and not expect them to hit back. And somewhere along the way, you seem to have mixed up the difference between good, honest criticism (ie: saying you don't like 'The Other Side Of The Mirror,' and illuminating valid reasons why you don't), and sophomoric putdowns that are posted with only one, very obvious intention. Relatively few people ever take exception with the former approach (and those that do, aren't representative of the whole of the fan community), but a large majority will most certainly take exception with the latter approach and will respond accordingly. I say this because I like you... but you've turned yourself into the kind of fan you claim to hate. Whereas you and I might normally be rolling our eyes together at the most "out there" folks in the fan community. If I didn't think you were better than that, Dave, I'd just ignore you completely.

(now if THAT doesn't say how much I used to love Stevie, I don't know what does) Gotta run boys. Band practice looms, and we're going to attempt to learn TEN songs tonight! I had to really squeeze the lid onto the cooler!
