Imagine my disappointment when the band took the stage, I know that the blues is a Black Man's music, but the guys in this band were not bluesers by any stretch of the imagination, good musicians I am sure, but not blues men. As has been mentioned elsewhere on these forums, they kept telling the audience that the great Peter Green was on stage. |

Thanks for the story! Would that have been in 1981? Um yes, they were more African funk musicians, weren't they. I guess we're all aware here that this wasn't a great period for Green artistically. But it's still very nice to have some music from these years. It seems you worked with Kolors from 1984-85? Very much appreciate you stopping by. |

There are many thoughts and opinions that cannot be stated on a public forum! Martin Celmins, when he finally tracked me down, said that he would have loved to have spoken to someone else from the "Whitakker era" as he called it, for the original book, before it became the "Official" biography, at least I was able to provide him with a photograph of the 84/85 lineup, too late to alter the text! I am trying to track down some recordings of the period, which is how I stumbled upon this forum, particularly the live concert recorded in Stockholm and broadcast on Swedish radio, and the dreadful Spanish TV show, where Peter, in typical style, refused to mime to the lyrics, priceless! Maybe you can provide us with some of the more innocent facts? Never heard of the Spanish TV show, sounds priceless indeed. I can provide you with a copy of the Swedish live concert, check your inbox . |

I do not know about other times, but he did insist on being called Greenbaum, which of course is his real name. |

The whole broadcast circulates, something like 9 tracks. It's probably not the whole concert, though. |

the whole broadcast? mel and vinnie want to know
I have only "seen" the "Black Magic Woman" portion of this. I have heard audio however. Is the video on youtube? If so I have never found it. If someone here has access or knows the links it would be wonderful if they could post it.
