Is he serious......or joking on us? This post sounds a TAD bit sarcastic, like "Oh, sure....I'm supposed to put it out on EVERY medium available!!! Just buy it on iTunes!!!"

Yep....if it were only to be released digitally, I'd be passing on it!

I just don't listen to music on my computer...I like it in the car, or when I'm just doing stuff around the house. I don't want to go through the hassle of downloading, then burning...that's part of what I'm paying the artist for!
I know I'm going to lose out on some music from some of my favorites as more of them go digital, but it's sort of a double-edged sword...they'll also be losing sales, as I know a lot of other people feel this way! (On a TOTALLY different note....does Walter EVER plan on doing another CD??? i loved WALTERNATIVE!!!!) |

yep. If i'm buying music I'd prefer a format where i'm getting the highest quality. A 320/256kbps download isn't value to me when I could buy the CD and have the maximum quality and also be able to create the FLAC/EAC to have on computer.

Sadly I think digital music is the way of the future...there won't be CDs one day soon. I remember a guy I used to know who was a DJ lamenting the loss of vinyl and how the sound was never the same on a CD. This was 20 years ago, and he talked about how clubs that had changed from vinyl to CD music had seen a reduction in people through the door. There was a technical explanation for that but it went over my head.
Either way, just because technology changes doesn't make it better, but it means that eventually we will have no choice but to listen to digital. Personally I don't listen to CDs these days, I listen to my ipod, or connect the ipod to the stereo or listen on the computer. I am even thinking of putting an aux jack in the car. I suspect most of those who are 20 years younger than me wouldn't even consider putting a CD in or burning music to a CD that they have downloaded. |

He released one album of new solo material in 2002 (Apocalypso Now) as well as his "Lost Album" in 2000 (Mad Dog, recorded in the mid 1980's). A few years back he sent me a bunch of demos, one of which ended up being used on last year's Malibooz album Queens' English. He's also done some work with The Brooklyn Cowboys and Burrito Deluxe, as well as one album with Gail and the Tricksters since releasing Walternative. I'm not sure if/when he plans on releasing another solo album (haven't asked him about it in awhile), though he does regularly play gigs in and around Nashville.
