Well it's interesting that Viv should be told by the people she spoke to that he had been so unprofessional and lacking in judgement then, lol. Very interesting.

I guess what's done is done. I'm just hoping that at some point we'll get to see LB tour solo in the UK. |

Hi Guys! Just felt the need to make a post and clear some things up since a lot of people on here seem to be confused. The postponement happened pretty last minute. As of the Wednesday before (the guys were supposed to head to UK on that Sunday), Neale was still hoping he could pull it all off. He was advised by his doctor that under no circumstances was that a good idea and no one wanted him to have any sort of set back and be away from a specialist. Before the postponement was announced a day or two later, dates were already in the works to be rescheduled. Lindsey wouldn't have had time to find a replacement and trust them to learn all the music in time for the UK shows to start, and as far as everyone was concerned, Neale would have the operation, recover and be able to attend the rescheduled dates. That was the plan. Recently, it was found that there is no way to reschedule all of the dates. The December dates were already in the works in July, so that's nearly six months ago. I'm sure this wasn't anybody's first choice and I don't see how things were handled unprofessionally from LB's end. The only thing that LB did was say to his friend, "Get better and we'll reschedule." I can say first hand that I know there is no FM tour being planned for next year and that there isn't anything fishy going on. LB's management has been trying to handle this series of events with what little time notice they had. The cancellation is pricey. The equipment was already shipped over and venues have fines for postponing, and even heavier fines for canceling. I'm so sorry for all of you had tickets bought, made travel arrangements and were looking forward to Lindsey's first trip "across the pond." I'm surprised LB's website hasn't been updated yet (that is my only complaint for how it's been handled), but I wouldn't be surprised to see a statement from LB in the future. Again, I'm sorry to those of you who are disappointed, but I can promise you that no one saw this coming. I'm not sure if this clears anything up for anyone, but I'm trying. Here's to a happier, healthier 2012 and hopes that they'll make their way over there soon!

Hi Miranda and thanks again for taking the time to make a statement. First of all, please be assured that we know replacing Neale wouldn't be an option and that of course we wish him well and that anyone's health always comes first.
However, the thing that has really got to people is the statement issued by LB's camp that it is not possible to reschedule any dates for the entire of 2012. Even you simply state that "Recently, it was found that there is no way to reschedule all of the dates." This is where we would like at least a little more information if at all possible. As fans who have waited so long to see him and are now bitterly disappojnted, some more information would really help. Many people here are reasonably knowledgeable about how venues book up etc and find it very difficult to believe that it would be impossible to reschedule what is in fact a small amount of dates at any time during a twelve month period. It seems highly unlikely. Can you give us any more information about this? Of course I don't mean to ask for any information about Neale's recovery as such, that is entirely his business and no-one else's, but the "no way to reschedule" sounds more of a logistical problem with venues - which just doesn't seem right. Thank you.

I made the comment about Neale getting replaced because I read a lot of comments (not just here), that have people frustrated with Lindsey's decision not to replace him and go on with the tour. It WAS brought up, but with the time frame, simply not an option. This was Lindsey's first time in the UK and everyone was really looking forward to this portion of the tour -- Especially Neale who is from England and would have been having a lot of friends and family attending. I think they were looking to reschedule in the spring sometime. I don't know that the whole year being open for them was an option. With four guys in a band (and several on the crew), others have prior commitments, LB has a family, etc. Okay, that's all I have on that subject, and I could even be reaching. Again, don't take what I'm saying as the word because I'm just piecing together what I've heard and what I know about the industry. Hope that helps! |

so we can probably close this thread now - we have the answer: the UK/Ireland tour is definitely canceled, not just postponed. i don't know much about tour cancellations, but i know they happen all the time - and fans always complain. i guess in many cases things may be clarified through artist's website. don't remember what Adele's team did when she recently canceled the whole US (and worldwide?) tour - but either way people who bought tix still speculated and complained. when Bono broke his back (or something like that?) a year or so ago, people still speculated and demanded explanations. guess whatever you do, you can't stop that. |

Miranda has been kind enough to do her best to offer as much explanation as she can and so again, thank you.

That Azoff is Lindsey's management. Probably not. I bet they're given a spiel to give customers in those situations.

i wouldn't be so sure - in my experience you may get completely different info depending on who you catch at the box office counter. saying that artist is unprofessional / exhibits poor judgement doesn't sound very professional.

Just curious, could someone post the concert dates and then post the first known postponement date? And then the date the tour was officially cancelled? I'd be curious to know what time frame everything was in. |
