If it's any consolation, Gerald, This is the Time ranks up in my top 2 or 3 on the album, too. But I'm not surprised because I know a lot of people don't care so much for it.

Yes, you should have known better. You were so eager to strategize to save a second favorite that you left your first one naked and vulnerable. Your miscalculation will have sad results for you, I'm afraid. Something to keep it mind for the final two Survivors.

Gerald I totally disagree with you here.
Are you saying it's less interesting or impressive to write a perfect pop song than something weird and experimental? I don't personally and neither did The Beatles or The Beach Boys.
I think This Is The Time is very like Tango In The Night myself, only I like Tango more.

No I do not say that at all. I was NOT talking about perfect pop, but slick pop. That's one. Two is: In the case of Lindsey Buckingham and especially on OOTC, the cranky unexpected parts, as well as the dark ones do speak more to MY imagination. But in this case I'm with a few again.

You're right there. (pulls hair) But on the other hand: TITTime wasn't mentioned much in previous rounds, so there really was no big suspention on this happening, except the fact I always rant about even Lindsey's fans go for the safest first, and now I digged the grave myself. It's a shadow on daddy's stone. Will I ever stop dreaming dreams?

Default Round 5: You Do or You Don't

I really like "This is the Time." I would hate to see it go. "You Do or You Don't" definitely takes a backseat to "This is the Time," IMO.

Default Round & Round #7: "Countdown".

The grande struggle of "This Is The Time" appeals to me far more.

This is the time is my favorite of ootc, but...

It remains one of my favorite albums

Default Round 7: This is the Time

I think it's one of the weakest outcomes on the album musically. Love the riffs/hooks but composition-wise, the other songs are better. And the guitar solo at the end would be so much better if he didn't keep that effect on the guitar...

Anyone else notice how similar "This is the Time" and "Come" are? I prefer "Come" ten times as much, though, as far as tension/catchiness go.

I happen to think Countdown is perfect pop though. It's slick but perfectly crafted and damn catchy too. I personally love both the pop side and the experimental side of Lindsey, it's what makes him who he is.

Perhaps I'm not the best person to comment on OOTC though, as I'm one of the minority who thinks it's his worst album. Law And Order and Go Insane, and of course, Gift Of Screws are all better IMO.
There are only really two songs I give a damn about on OOTC; Street Of Dreams (which is one of my all time faves and I'm pleased it has immunity) and Countdown, which, as I said before, I think is a slice of perfect, feelgood pop.

1. If I didn't love his popside I wouldn't love him.
2. Countdown is just a fraction over my edges.\
3. It is his lesser album in my opinion, too, excerp for SOD, TItOn, TITT, Wrong and DLD.
4. We agree. Only not about that one song, dear.
