The show was really great Saturday night. We got to the box office early and ended up with 4th row center seats.

She began the Piano Bar segment by saying that the songs she'd be perfoming were out before most people in the audience were born, but that her brother had loved them and he used to play her the records all the time. Then she started playing "Dreams." I cried. It was such a beautiful cover. And then she played "The Long and Winding Road." Fingers crossed that a bootleg surfaces.

Here's the setlist, if anyone cares:

Original Sinsuality
Little Amsterdam
Leather
Amber Waves
Goodbye Pisces
China
Playboy Mommy
Dreams
The Long And Winding Road
Cars And Guitars
Northern Lad
Crucify
A Sorta Fairytale
The Beekeeper
Gold Dust
Tear In Your Hand
Toast
Baker Baker

Her parents were in the audience a few rows behind us.

Oh, Mikki - I forgot this was the show you were going to! "Jealous" doesn't even begin to describe my feelings...

I first read about the show yesterday, and I've been scouring the Net for hints of a recording. If I hear about or find one, I'll post info here. (And PLEASE do the same... )

And what an awesome setlist - altho I read the show was kinda weepy, since it was basically a tribute to her brother. But I love that she doesn't hold back in the sense that if she *needs* to play a subdued or somewhat sad show, she will - and just trust that the audience will go along with her.

And don't feel bad - I've gotten to hear "Landslide" twice at her shows. And both times: Boo-Hoo City. The funny thing is, I've never cried when Stevie sings it. The best time was the second time I heard it - it was in Austin, and when she started playing it people were obviously confused and trying to figure out which song it was. Then, I started to hear "Stevie Nicks" whispered around me, and then her name moved through the crowd like electricity. It was like people were conjuring her spirit as Tori was playing.

that's total coolness. I remember Tori doing Can't Get You Out of My Head when Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with cancer. part of me wonders if she played Dreams as a tribute to Stevie and Jess. aww...how sweet. I love Tori more each day.

I was actually going to the Portsmouth show at first, but then decided on Cary last week. I'm SO glad I picked Cary. I don't know what I'd done if I'd missed Dreams and heard YMCA instead.

Yeah, the show was very subdued. She only spoke to us twice, I believe. Before Dreams, and before Little Amsterdam, when she mentioned the heat, and that her mom had told her that she was born not too far from there. She said that was probably why she liked it hot.

Wow, that sounds amazing. Everyone around me was singing along with Dreams, and it was so surreal. As soon as I realized what she was singing, I was crying like a baby. I cried when she first came out, during Dreams, and during Toast. I felt like an idiot. My boyfriend kept laughing at me.

Hey, I may sound like a total tard, but how did her brother die? I never heard how, just that he died. Anyone know?

Oh no, that's my worst fear. That is so sad.

I'm going to see her on Sunday! I hope she does Dreams then as well.
