...Aaaand it's a set change in London. In the meantime, I'm going to watch Annie Lennox again. Seriously, she has been one of the, if not the best performer yet.

I have dial-up, so there's no way in hell I'm even going to attempt to watch the AOL feed. Instead, I'm watching VH1, and a little bit behind on Tivo. I missed U2/Paul McCartney, one of the only things I actually really wanted to see.

I did love Richard Ashcroft w/ Coldplay- I'm a huge Richard Ashcroft fan and it was soooo great to see him out there. Also? Beyonce telling people that "Say My Name" has extra significance because of all of the nameless in poverty? is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

The commercials and interviews are AWFUL! The VJs are awful, the interviews are awful, they're barely showing anything of the performances. -_-

EMI Provides Live 8 Financial Backing For DVD Rights [Hot Flashes - 05.06.27 17:38:51]

According to a press release, EMI and Live 8 have concluded a unique agreement whereby EMI will provide the Live 8 organization with a major financial contribution in return for the worldwide DVD rights to its July 2nd concerts in the UK, Canada, US, France, Germany and Italy.

In November, EMI expects to release locally tailored DVDs around the world featuring live footage from the concerts. Artists who will perform at the concerts include DEEP PURPLE, PINK FLOYD, MOTLEY CRUE, BRYAN ADAMS, BON JOVI, COLDPLAY, SHERYL CROW, DIDO, GREEN DAY, JAY-Z, ELTON JOHN, ANNIE LENNOX, LINKIN PARK, MADONNA, MAROON 5, PAUL MCCARTNEY, REM, SCISSOR SISTERS, STING, JOSS STONE, U2, KEITH URBAN, VELVET REVOLVER, ROBBIE WILLIAMS, BRIAN WILSON and STEVIE WONDER.

Bob Geldof said: "I hope this will be the biggest selling DVD of all time. It deserves to be. More importantly perhaps, it should be, for it will help us achieve our goal of changing the lives of the extreme poor for the better and making our generation the one that helped end the disgrace of poverty. We are very grateful to EMI for their financial contribution which helped to make the July 2nd concerts happen everywhere on the planet and thus nudge the world a little closer towards our shared aim."

The concerts are being held ahead of the G8 summit in Scotland on July 6th where eight world leaders will be presented with a workable plan to double aid, drop debt and make trade laws fair to stop 30,000 children dying needlessly of extreme poverty every single day.

Alain Levy, Chairman and CEO of EMI Music said: "EMI is honoured to be supporting this inspired and visionary project and working with a truly amazing line-up of stars who are demonstrating yet again the power that music has as a force for change."

"On its own, the Toronto area show already boasts an astonishing line-up of artists," said Deane Cameron, President of EMI Music Canada. "We're delighted to contribute and delighted Canada will be part of this truly global production."

For further information on artists who will perform at the concerts go to www.live8live.com.

The best for me too, together with Rem's Everybody Hurts. I found U2 a bit disappointing though. And in Roma my favourite, Francesco De Gregori opened the concert even before Paul McCartney in London.

Oh GOD, Good Cahrlotte's on my TV (I'm multitasking Live8 and regretting it right now). CLICK'D.
I didn't see all the performance, they switch here from a concert to the other, but she definitely sung Thank You and Seven Seconds with Youssou 'n Dour.

And Christy - Yes, bring on the DVD

Status Quo are still together and are opening for Meatloaf in Killarney, Ireland tonight, the Quo boys were going to play Live8 but they did not get an early slot, they were scheduled for 18:30 which meant they were double booked.

It nice to see that the BBC are broadcasting the complete show and the UK get to see the whole UK show interuption free, at least this makes up for our license fee we have to pay to make the BBC commercial free.

I know she did 'Thank You', and two other songs. I'll try and find out which.

And I've had just about enough of Snoop, so I'm going to watch Bruce Cockburn in Toronto.
