I'd be more curious why a thread I created last night titled MIA in an effort to find out what happened to a Ledgie that has been here for over a decade has suddenly disappeared. The first response was that he was banned. I signed off shortly afterwards and now the thread is gone. Is there an unwritten rule I have broken? I had no idea this person had been banned. Is asking about someone who has been a fixture here on The Ledge verboten when they have become banned? I wanted to send the person a PM asking about an FM statistic, as I often would, and found they are no longer on the Member List.

A PM would have been nice.

If you find old posts of his, it still shows him as an addicted ledgie as opposed to a moderator (which happens when someone first gets bant) or just registered, which is what bant people have by their name.

I seem to recall him going off on someone last time he was around.

A couple of folks are out on temporary disciplinary leave which removes them from the member list, while others may have disappeared from the member list because they haven't logged in in so long that their account has been automatically deactivated. Some past members also come to us and ask that their screennames be removed since they're done with their Ledge tenure, and won't be back. There are a variety of reasons why some folks no longer show up on the member list.

really louie? I seem to recall thread discussion in the Ledge Board area stating that members can NOT be removed at all. Maybe the system has changed. I recall writing "it's nice to know I can always come back if I have spent time away."

Time for ME to clean house.
