Apparently at one time FM's manager was Dan Hick's old manager. I forget which person, but thought it was awesome there was a FM/DH tie in. lol I always just thought they were folk-like, but yea, I guess hard to explain.
I love the Smiths and have seen Morrissey before. Great flippin' show. Am not at all familiar with his more recent stuff.

becca, Garbo,

Check out Morrissey's last three studio albums:

You Are the Quarry
Ringleader of the Tormentors
Years of Refusal

Yes, Johnny Marr is missed but Moz has never been better!

At this moment I'm particularly obsessed with Waylon Jennings,
Trios Los Panchos and Rick Ross.

Implying the bands and artists that I'm used to listen to and not bands that I generally like, I'd say that beside Fleetwood Mac/ Stevie Nicks I'm into:

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
Elton John
Peter Gabriel
Queen
Clash (not much lately though)

Anyone else totally into Paolo Nutini? This guy, after a debut album that I totally did not like (juvenile songwriting), has really developed a sound that I'm loving on his latest album. He sounds like a man who has lived a little, instead of a boy.

I saw a review on Amazon that claimed Paolo isn't taken seriously by the music biz because he's too pretty.

So great to see Everything but the Girl mentioned here! "Eden" got me through uni and I've loved them ever since! Another Bridge, Each and Every One, Cross My Heart some favourites..

Have any other fans read Tracey's auto bio? A great read, highly recommended!

I also love:

Elvis Costello
Chic
The Beatles

Quite a select taste!

Probably because the Mac takes up most of my music listening!

No, but I absolutely love her two recent solo albums; especially Love And It's Opposite.

Damn! That was awesome!!! Vocals reminiscent of Cat Stevens and music similar to Ray Lamontagne! LOVED IT!!!

I remember this kid. His first album had a cheeseball song called "New Shoes". Didn't care for it...or that album. THIS, on the other hand, is amaze-balls! Might have to check out this new record. Thanks for sharing!

WOW. I am really impressed by huge diverse lists people shared. There were about 40 artists that I noticed that forgot to put on my list. I'm a completist, so a good portion of my list are artists of which I've collected their entire discography, and then some. It kills me that most of it is in storage on the other side of the country. Hopefully I'll be united with in the next year or so. I'll be overwhelmed.

I love his voice and his early solo work after the TV series ended. I love the Partridge Family albums for the quality of the work. A lot of reputable musicians, writers and producers worked on those songs, and not just for the Partridge Family. Many of the musicians were from the Wrecking Crew era, and worked with and augmented tons of famous bands and artists.

When they hired David, they weren't even looking for a singer. They intended him to lip-sync; that was until they found out he could sing, He was more pf a hippie rocker than a teen idol, but he went along with it.

The Monkees were the forerunner manufactured TY band, but they actually became a real band, Mike and Peter were musicians, Davy was singer, as was Micky could sing, and learned to play drums. Most of their albums were a mixture of them and sessions players.

Thanks, I thought it was really good, too.
