Arrow Round 2 - I Am Waiting

I am waiting...TO HEAR THIS!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about Given Thing, Gerald. I think it's wierd and wonder what he was going to do with it. I'd love to hear a final cut of that song.

Default Round 2: I Am Waiting

I'm still going for Try for the Sun in the next round, because as I said previously it is my least favorite (if I had to pick one). I DO agree with the fact that we should go after the non-Lindsey written songs.

Not everyone can have your exquisite taste, Gerald. We peasants have not attained the high level of sophistication required to consider half-formed words, mumbling, and wheezing as magnificent art.

Default Round 2 - I Am Waiting

All I've heard of this song is the clip of Stevie recording backing vocals for it on the Destiny Rules DVD.

I haven't heard "Blue Turns to Grey" either but most people seem to be voting for this one so I'm jumping on the same wagon.

You should pursue a career in comedy. Given Thing is offal. All he does is mumble and breath oddly, splash some guitar in the background, and call it a song. I call it ****, though.

For me such a thing can be magnificent art, but only if it's done correctly (which is a thing everyone will always disagree on). A 30 minute progressive rock suite can have as many elaborate movements as possible and a heck of a lot of time spent on creating it but it can still suck a lot. It's all about how the whole topic and musical content is executed and approached, not about the form itself. And the abstraction of "Given Thing" is no less fascinating to me than something that's lyrically and performance-wise far more coherent.

Of course you'll still think that "Given Thing" is done poorly. I just happen to love mumbling and wheezing if it's done with the right approach.

You pronounce utter bullsh*t here. Lindsey's demo's are exquisite. Listen to the early moaning mumble searching-for-tonesandmaybe-wordsversion of Deep Dense and My little demon and you can hear how close that is to the finished product. I just prefer the "what is he trying-quality" more than the finished product in some cases, especially when it's finished with some of lindsey's obligatory lyrics.

It's a given thing: only THAT short lyric makes you think of the possibilities of what the contexts are of such lyric. He's having a ball too: you should see my five year-old jump around on this song: He does not understand english so he does not care for the fact that he mumbles sighs or screams: " this song makes me SOOOOOO happy !!!!! ". That demo has ALOT of hidden quality that makes it a song: it's the "feel" of it. A dutch boy that's five years old sometimes is a better " measuring point " than a spoiled fan.

Oh...and I'm quite good at comedy.
Oh and Nancy: you apologize to me in your first round-vote. You know I love this song and I knew that it would not last long. My taste is not something above yours. I really get pissed about you putting me in an arrogance-position: I LOVE lindsey's unfinished and rawest work and I've pronounced that multiple times before. That makes me no better then you "peasants". I'm from the "backcorner" of my country so you could consider ME a peasant.
I just said: Everybody who voted off my fave in round one:

SCREW YOU!

So your apologies: sorry dear: not accepted.

PS: did I mention that Gaius rules? I said he rules.

PS: Why voting off Given Thing for mumbling and sighing and un-understandable lyrics and being not finished while nobody even mentioned of Steve's riff (Wear you down) at all for exactly the same reasons? ( well I won't because I love that one too. )
