Of course not. That is why we have laws in place. I mean there was a thread awhile back about that Bobitt (sp.?) woman cutting her husband's penis off because he allegedly raped her over and over again. Well, I get that if that if he did rape her over and over again, he was a bad person. But, for her to exact her own punishment while he was sleeping or whatever is a crime as well. I am all about the law.

As we say up here, it was wicked good! And it did have the apple crisp dessert. Today's was not so satisfying so I got a muffin for dessert. 'sokay though cuz I'm going to the gym later. There's no way those Healthy Choice crumbs would've fueled me through that.

LOL - a friend of mine always used to say that HC meals have around 300 calories total and some less. So, if one does not fill ya - eat another

When I served on a jury it was so hard to get people to talk about the facts of the case at first. Everyone had already formed an opinion during the trial! I was amazed by how little thought some were willing to put into the verdict. In the end though I think the system worked because a discussion did get going and folks were able to discuss their opinions without flipping out.

Pfft. She told the police she sliced off his pecker because he was selfish and wouldn't give her an orgasm.

I know - but the "men are always evil no matter what crowd" will never see it that way. So be it.

Forming an opinion during the trial is okay, but those opinions should be discussed per the judge's intructions.

I have never served on a jury. I imagine it would be very much like Julia Sugarbaker's jury duty

This case is one I do not know the details of. Did she really say that to police? And dude, why are you stirring this cauldron?

But they were convinced they were right and there was no discussion necessary. It was so weird, some people just don't listen. Some of us had to guide others into looking at the evidence and the credibility of the witness.

John Wayne Bobbitt (born March 23, 1967) and Lorena Bobbitt (née Lorena Gallo, born in 1968 or 1969 in Bucay, Ecuador) were an American couple, best known for a 1993 incident in which Lorena severed a portion of John's penis with a kitchen knife.

On the night of June 23, 1993, Bobbitt cut off her husband's sex organ with a kitchen knife as he lay sleeping in their Manassas, Virginia, home. She then drove off with the severed appendage and flung it out her car window. Police performed a diligent search and located it, and it was then surgically reattached.

In statements to police, she explained that she had cut off the penis because her husband was "selfish" and "wouldn't give her an orgasm". She was charged with "malicious wounding", but was found not guilty in 1997 on the grounds that she had experienced an irresistible impulse to wound her husband, who had also physically abused her. Therefore she was not liable for her actions. She was, however, ordered to spend 45 days in a mental hospital.

John also faced charges stemming from accusations of assault against Lorena. He was acquitted of a charge of marital sexual assault in September 1993.

Lorena and John were divorced in 1995. Lorena resumed the use of her maiden name, Gallo. In 1998, she was charged with assault for punching her mother, Elvia Gallo, as she watched television.

After his reattachment surgery, Bobbitt briefly became a porn star, appearing in the movies Frankenpenis and John Wayne Bobbitt … Uncut, in part to finance the operation which reattached his member. In "Frankenpenis," Bobbit played a character who was made with spare parts, much like "Frankenstein", whose penis inexplicably comes off during a rousing session of intercourse. Bobbit then moans, "oh no, not again."

In 1997, John Bobbitt moved to Nevada, where he has worked in a brothel and as a bartender, a tow truck operator, and a minister in a Las Vegas church. After divorcing Lorena, he married Dottie Brewer (3 February 2001 – 26 February 2001) and Joanna Ferrell (since 23 March 2002).

An ironic facet of the incident in which his penis was severed is that the English verb "to bob" means "to cut short", and hence the family name "Bobbitt" sounds like "bob it", i.e. "cut it short".

The case created a popular sensation at the time, and was a frequent subject of jokes and joking references. It even seemed possible for a while that the Bobbitt name might enter the language. For example, Boston Globe architecture critics wrote in 1994 that "An architectural Bobbitt case, Memorial Hall at Harvard University has lacked [the top part of] its tower since September 1956." However, public memory of the case has receded.

I went with the meatloaf...actually they call it chopped steak with gravy, I call it meat loaf ..... nice salad, rolls and banana bread slices, steamed green beans, mashed taters and for dessert was a brownie with vanilla ice cream with a raspberry drizzle.

God -- you were right -- now I need a nap!

I know - I hate that. Also, I have seen juries convict based on extra evidence stuff and it just pisses me off to no end.

She did. It was one of the first things she said to the police.

I don't even know what they're talking about, I just had to jump in when I saw Bobbitt being defended. She's crazier than Coultergeist on a cocktail of pop rocks and acid.
