Are you trying to be funny, or actually discuss the issue?

I'm sorry, I must be starting to snap. I just can't believe some of the opinions people have posted here lately...I mean what do you say to someone who says that certain people are not human and should be killed? I'm waiting for someone to start a "Jews control the planet" thread.

People always have differing opinions. The interesting thing is the reason why they have them. Not a lot of exchange here lately on that front. It's more about sarcasm, hyperbole, and an instant dismissal of any idea that offers a challenge to the staus quo and beliefs held by the majority. Thus the exodus of individuals capable of maintaining a reasoned, well mannered discussion. And people with a sense of umor. Everything is stuck on a snarky bitch fest level, and rarely rises above that. Entertinning, I suppose, in small doses. But not very interesting.

But wait, don't Jews at least control the media? Them and the homos?

It's not just that they have differing opinions, it's that they have "opinions" that are so dangerous and repugnant that there is literally no way to respond rationally. They aren't rational opinions. I'm not saying your opinion is on that level, but I just find so much of what is expressed here to be completely depraved. And on top of it, there seems to be a widespread belief that drinking and taking drugs is the way to cope with problems/stress...that really has nothing to do with this, but I just had to throw that in there. How do you have a well-mannered discussion with someone who is spouting ideas that are, frankly, bat-**** crazy?

Hmm. Depraved? I missed those.

Again, I kinda missed that too. I am sure plenty of people drink, and a few people here smoke pot sometimes. But I wasn't aware of many people who were outta control drug addicts. Or completely bat **** crazy - though some seem kind of comically out of touch with reality.

Well, that's kinda my point. If you don't consider them depraved, how can I have a discussion with you about it?

You don't have to be a crack whore with track marks on every visible part of your body to have a problem. I'm not even saying anyone here does. I'm just questioning that as people's first response to stress...to get drunk or high. Everyone does it like it's no big deal...people I work with act like getting trashed is the same as going to the movies. Or the grocery store. I think it's insane.

some people also think it's insane when a person has to cut up his debit card to avoid going to mcdonald's. look in the ****ing mirror, dude.

Whether or not I consider them depraved doesn't make it impossible for me to discuss the subject. I really have no f*cking idea what you could possibly be referring to.

Just as many people stuff themselves with pizza and ice cream. Avoidance is avoidance. I'm not sure if high alcohol intake is less healthy than obesity. Or really even a different behavior when you get down to it.

Oh, I may have it...I guess there was a thread recently entitled, Who Wants To Have a Glass Of Wine? Or something like that. Is that what you're referring to? Maybe I'll check it out and see if that is the nexus of the depravity of which you speak.

Oh, so I looked at Pip's have a drink with me thread.

I thought it was kinda cute. If I had been enjoying a beer or something I would have happily said hello to everyone. They seemed to be having fun.
