I used to have it on video and never got around to replacing it on DVD but it's quite good! Same sort of genre as Deceived and Pacific Heights - lots of those types of films around at that time. |

SIAMESE VAMPIRE
Starring Emma Watson, Robert Pattinson and Red West. I received a preview disc of this independent film release. It will be shown at the next Sundance Film Festival. I can't really give you any details about this film, other than it's the best vampire movie I've ever seen. Most horror movies are a joke...not this one. With the limited budget of an independent film you don't get all the special effects like we're used to. But that works to this films advantage. The story is what counts, and it will scare you. |

Yup - that's the one. I quite like it and yes, I always think of Pacific Heights when I watch it too. They're very similar - even down to the fact that the other part of a house is rented out to fund renovations. Both are good. Deceived... oh dear. No, Goldie, No! I love her but that film is just pretty dull.

Watched Misery and The Hard Way. I love The Hard Way! Such an underrated Michael J. Fox movie!

Watched Dorian Gray - the latest version with Colin Firth and Ben Barnes. I don't know what Wilde would have made of this, but I enjoyed it! |

B-Monkey
I have a vast collection of Rupert Everett DVDs. I think it's fair to say that I'm obsessed. But sadly this is one of the two in my collection which I can never watch again, due to the fact that he was shot and killed at the end. It's a shame because I thought it was an interesting and enjoyable film. Darn. |

Cemetery Man aka Dellamorte Dellamore is one of my all time favourite Rupie films. It might have a low budget, but it just makes up for it in sheer farce. My favourite moment was when he was running through the hospital after shooting the Nun and his friend. And the Detective spots him and warns him that there's a Gunman in the hospital. "Oh. It's okay. Ya got a gun. Ya can defend yourself". XD XD Nobody believes he's capable of such things. I also enjoyed the shift in character persona when Francesco has his "breakdown" at the cliff's edge and develops a Gnaghi like state. And Gnaghi begins to speak, as though Francesco was suppressing his own personality.

Finally found time to Netflix again.
Some simple reviews, very simple... Blackthorn I'm not big on Westerns and this one did little to change my mind. The sound was great though. Larry Crowne Much better than I thought it would be, but that's not saying much. I bet LouieLouie watched this movie for the scooters/vespas. Another Earth This one should have been much better. They didn't really need another earth to tell this story. I do guarantee you will jump during one scene, so hang on to your couch. |

Hook by Steven Spielberg on Blu-ray... I always thought this one was a bit overlooked. Hoffman as Capt. Hook is fantastic!

Hachi: A Dog's Tale
What a beautiful story. Cried my eyes out at the end. Even more amazing is this is based on a true story. Directed by Lasse Hallstrom. Mysteries of Lisbon A very long film and certainly not for everyone. I found it fascinating. The portuguese language is so beautiful. Of course, I am 50% portuguese, so it helped. Interesting that the director is actually from Chile. John Adams Still have (3) parts more to go...but the first two parts were amazing, which were the events leading up to the Declaration of Independence.
