I know that I
Treat you unkind
That long ago
I lost my mind

And even after
All these years
Oh, I can't even
See you clear

Oh, I won't shut us down
No, I will stay around
As long as I can
As long as I can

With words like these, Anne Heche would be the *last* person that comes to mind. While it could very well be about someone else than Stevie, be that Carol Anne or Cheri, I think especially the part about still not seeing her clear after all those years (which indicates he is still around the person) could only make this song about the 'stout gypsy'.

Not that it matters one iota ofcourse.

Is it possible acoustic Big Love is part of the soundtrack, too, or is the viewer confused?

Also, about the lyrics. Is it just remotely possible Lindsey wrote this song to go with the plot of the movie?

Barbara
"Big Love" is in the movie.

Tough titty.

It's not like I was being serious, and I'm still quite amazed that people responded by trying to explain how it could be about Stevie and not Mrs. Lafoon.

I can't believe you're suprised, those lyrics totally could apply to Stevie. Not saying they do, I'm not a shipper, but they totally could. So don't be suprised, just look at the facts. For you to discount the possiblity that they are about her shows a lack of logic. (remember, I said possibility) What do you mean you weren't being serious? Can we then infer that you didn't mean what you said???

The song.... hmm.

I don't hate it, and it definitely grows on you with several listens. Still, it's not knocking my socks off either.
It's certainly not a matter of me not "getting" it, and I seem to be one of the few people who thinks that Lindsey's vocal is the highlight of the track. It has that "perfect in its imperfection" quality that I always react to.

But hearing the full length song, I feel it suffers from the same problem as "Say Goodbye"... it works against itself. The instrumentation is too busy to support the vocal, and they sound like they're pulling away from each other. Your ear (well, at least my ear) can only listen to one or the other.

Lindsey's quirky production used to knock my socks off, but this is a style that he can't quite pull off.

I like the whisper thing ... probably wouldn't want a whole album of it, but it works well w/these lyrics. Sounds like he's straining for some of the notes, but I like it nonetheless.

Personally, I think it's about Ray Lindsey.
Ever notice how those two look at each other?

And you know I love ya... I just have to keep you striving for new ways to express yourself. I don't want you to turn into a self-parody.

Well, I saw how he looked at Ray Lindsey after the multiple guitar mess ups in Madison - only that was not love - then again, ITS A THIN LINE BETWEEN LOVE AND HATE

That was of course the concert when during the big mad, LB did push ups for La Nicks and then she kept saying something over and over to him that seemd to calm him - perhaps that incident is what this song is about

Really? that's how I've been thinking of you for about the past six months.
Me, too, but I don't mind.
for instance, you'll usually say "oy" and "fetch". Just for starters.
Also you will say "that's about as likely as me (insert something outlandish)."

You mean you don't want to be a seemingly ageless and timeless success who is adored by millions and who has the ability to move like 1,000 to tears with the beauty of your art
