Thumbs up Pink Floyd...

Love the Floyd....thanks to a Ledgie who got me hooked. I love dark music, as I sit here listening to Linkin Park's The End. Heh. They just played a few PF songs on the classic rock station.

Looking For Love (aka Wookin' Pa Nub )...LOVE that song!!! I love classic country music...mostly from the late 70's and all the 80's.

Wow! I suggest you get ahold of someone's copy of Dark Side of the Moon or Echoes (best of set). I'm SURE you've heard "Another Brick in the Wall" ("we don't need no education, we don't need no thought control...")
I didn't really discover them until about '99 or so, and I'm kicking myself for missing what might have been their last tour in '94. I did see Roger solo though in 2000 and that kicked ass! Plus there's always the laser shows to tide me over...

Putting on my Animals CD now...

If i become a guitar player, does that mean i'll like it? Probably not. I already know they're all amazing, i just don't like it much. "Isn't that weird?"

I've seen some old videos from The Wall shows where Dave does his solo for Comfortably Numb while standing on the top of the wall. AMAZING! Goosebumps every time!

Well I don't know... I think they are an acquired taste. They can be a bit depressing, Roger Waters lyrics always were. Some of Gilmours later stuff is a bit more optimistic. Coming Back To Life is a wonderful song..

The same person that informed Christy of Pink Floyd informed me too... Pissed I missed the '94 tour due to my lateness in discovering them however I did see Gilmour play Marooned, Coming Back To Life and Sorrow in London back in September with the same friend and I met Nick Mason in London in October with yet again the same friend....

I don't like them at all. Bu I do love Led Zepplin, which is weird because those 2 bands are like cousins of eachother supposedly.

maybe, but cousins where one rocks, and one moans and groans slowly to a dismal end...except money, and another brick in the wall. I really like the lyrics, though, i just don't like the music.

Too funny. Pink Floyd is like my FATHER'S favorite band. He's always like, "Poor Sid...Whatever happened to Sid?"

Private Dancer was written for her by Mark Knopfler. He was too busy to play on it at the time but the rest of Dire Straits performed on the album version...

It would come between Gypsy and Alice for me. Alice I love live, but not so much on the record. Gypsy I love on the record but not so much live.
