(4) "Somebody to Love" Jefferson Airplane
(5) "Maybe" Janis Joplin
(6) "Up Around the Bend" CCR
(7) "Time Has Come Today" The Chambers Brothers
(8) "Strawberry Fields Forever" The Beatles
(9) "Imagine" John Lennon
(10) "Watching the Wheels" John Lennon
(11) "Mr. Soul" Buffalo Springfield
(12) "Take It to the Limit" The Eagles
(13) "Dreams" Fleetwood Mac
(14) "The Chain" Fleetwood Mac
(15) "Man of the World" Fleetwood Mac
(16) "Oh Well" Fleetwood Mac
(17) "I Don't Want to Know" Fleetwood Mac
(18) "Nutbush City Limits" Ike and Tina Turner
(19) "Nights in White Satin" Moody Blues
(20) "Wish You Were Here" Pink Floyd
(21) "When Doves Cry" Prince
(22) "Purple Rain" Prince
(23) "Little Red Corvette" Prince
(24) "Paint It Black" Rolling Stones
(25) "Insider" Tom Petty w/ Stevie Nicks
(26) "The Waiting" Tom Petty
(27) "And It Stoned Me" Van Morrison
(28) "The Seeker" The Who
(29) "Baby, Can I Hold You Tonight" Tracy Chapman
(30) "Won't Get Fooled Again" The Who
(31) "Just Like A Woman" Bob Dylan
(32) "Tangled Up in Blue" Bob Dylan
(33) "Positively Fourth Street" Bob Dylan
(34) "Without a Leg to Stand On" Buckingham Nicks
(35) "St. Stephen" Grateful Dead

I'm sure that I'll leaving out some of my favorites even after that long list. If I think of more, I will add them on later.

Default Love The Moody Blues

(19) "Nights in White Satin" Moody Blues

Love it. The Moody Blues have some GREAT songs. Others ones I love are "Tuesday Afternoon","Question","The Story In Your Eyes", and "Isn't Life Strange?"
I remember not too long ago in Chit Chat, we were all musing about them not being in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. WTF?!

I love the sweeping melodrama of Nights In White Satin. It is definitely a guilty pleasure. My mother's favorite band was The Moody Blues.

I forgot two big ones- "Just Like Honey"- Jesus & Mary Chain and "I Wish I Had an Evil Twin" by the Magnetic Fields.

I Wish I Had An Evil Twin
I wish I had an evil twin
Running round doing people in
I wish I had a very bad
And evil twin to do my will
To cull and conquer, cut and kill
Just like I would if I weren't good
And if I knew where to begin
Down and down he'd go
How low, no would know
Sometimes the good life wears thin
I wish I had an evil twin
My evil twin would lie and steal
And he would stink of sex appeal
All men would writhe
Beneath his scythe
He'd send the pretty ones to me
And they would think that I was he
I'd hurt them, and I'd go scot-free
I'd get no blame and feel no shame
Cause evil's not my cup of tea
Down and down he'd go
How low, I would not need to know
All my life there should have been
An evil twin.

Hurrah!

The same person that informed Christy of Pink Floyd informed me too... Pissed I missed the '94 tour due to my lateness in discovering them however I did see Gilmour play Marooned, Coming Back To Life and Sorrow in London back in September with the same friend and I met Nick Mason in London in October with yet again the same friend....
Glad I got you into the Floydian world dude...I think you were always a member anyway, just didn't know it!

Roger Waters' lyrics are sometimes "depressing" only because they speak the truth about life, and unfortunately in the case of living on this planet in modern times, the truth often hurts.

My friend played me a solo album, I really like his lyrics.

I think you'll find Amber.... that the Floyd is all about testosterone and lots of it....big guitar sounds, big meaningful lyrics, lots of lights and flashing things onstage with a suitable waiting period inbetween to keep the fans guessing ..all great entertainment
Case in point-I was there at the Nick Mason meeting with MFM and our friend..I was definately in the minority as far as my sex goes...and I am quite partial to a bit of Floyd madness and genius on the odd occasion myself

I don't know who is, but...of course i grew up with Floyd, and yes, most men i know like it. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Wouldn't be a bad thing to be with a giant flock of men, that's for sure . A lot of people try to convince me or defend Floyd, but i already know they are good, i just really don't like slow, droning, depressed sounding music. And by depressed sounding, i'm not talking about the lyrics, but the music. I like faster, lighter music, for the most part. Their sound is (usually) very dirge like for me. It brings me down real fast. There are exceptions, of course, but it's a very dark SOUND to me. Like, music to kill yourself by . okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but still I like lights and flashing things, though...

That album was the first tape I got. I love TEOTH, but I like FTTSON better. That was the funniest sh** in Old School.

I literally cannot hear "Total Eclipse of the Heart" without adding dirty words like in Old School.

all this Pink Floyd talk has me wanting to purchase the "Dark Side of Oz" (The syncing of the music of DSOTM to the Wizard Of Oz movie) & "Alice In The Wall" (Syncing The Wall to Disney's "Alice In Wonderland") DVD's off of eBay.
