A movie that grosses around that is considered a hit if the budget is low. A movie that grosses under $100 million with a budget greater than $100 million is considered a FLOP. And then you have huge hits with moderate budgets that the studio claims not to have made a dime off of, i.e. Mel Gibson's "Ransom."

Also, it was a hit as far as box office receipts go regardless of whether it recouped the production costs, which it may have done by now with the DVD sales.
The DVD sales are what they're betting on to break even, no doubt.

We were talking about popularity and the box office receipts of that movie indicate it was a popular hit regardless of the production cost. That is what I was talking about. But, I believe it has grossed over 100 million now.

BTW - I think the LOTR still has not shown a profit

It's box office receipts make it a sleeper hit, nothing more. And a flop if anything else. Worldwide it's made $118. It didn't even make $70 million here and with worldwide receipts, it hasn't even met the budget.

And wasn't Kate Jackson his mom? Who heard about the pizza delivery boy and ordered her own "extra anchovies", and he shows up at her hotel room?!

Sorry to the haters, but I think he is super hot delish.
Damn, we just can't seem to get on the same page as far as our taste in actors! I take it you still like Tom Cruise?

I still think he's cute, good looking, whatever. S'okay, now we won't have to fight over them.

They are craaaaaaaaaaazy for doing that! I don't even watch it anymore. They lost me with that stunt. And I'll use this as an excuse to post a photo of his loveliness:
