Someone should really start a thread with those SaraRhiannon items in it. The ayback machine is just infuriating.

I think those were all the ones I had, actually. Only early versions of sr.com are available through there; once you get to like, mid-04-ish when the site was revamped, it's hard to get anything.
Story of the journals: Below you will find scans of poetry and various prose excerpts taken from Stevie's journals. Please keep in mind that I'm not claiming that these are 100% legit, or have all been typed or written by Stevie. I've heard that they were taken from her house and xeroxed by a "friend." That same friend supposedly copied the poems onto the unicorn stationery and for some reason included them with the journal excerpts. They have been circulating among the Stevie fan community since the mid-1980s. They were all scanned by me, so please do not take them and post them on other websites without permission. Enjoy! |

I was a bit torn about whether to post them knowing she'd posted the note asking others not to repost them but since her website is no longer available.....and since it's so darn hard to get them through the archive.org site anymore....I did it anyway.
I did notice though in looking at the different versions of the website that one poem that was attributed to Stevie (and was handwritten in what appeared to be Stevie's handwriting) was later (and correctly) identified as Rossetti's The Blessed Damozel. Maybe she copied it for inspiration or something? Anyway, some of these others may not be original Stevie compositions either if that incident is any indication. But some clearly were used later in songs we know (and love....or hate--LOL). In later explanations of how she came by the material, Jean Enloe's name pops up as the source of some of the material posted there as well. |

Thank you both -- those poems are fascinating.
How many more scribbled poems/songs does Stevie have stashed away that no one has ever seen? Will they ever be arranged and recorded? Questions, questions.... |

"leaded pains of my heart" is pretty nifty.
I bet the spelling wasn't deliberate though, but I really like it. Michele |
