First, the story of Frank Zappa and Herb Cohen’s eccentric labels is known mainly among cult circles. April 1, 2012 JULIAN LENNON: STEPPING OUT OF THE SHADOWS JULIAN wafts into the low-key private members’ club in London’s Soho. He is tanned, relaxed, looks far younger than his 48 years (he is 49 in a week's time) and has a lightness about him. His look is understated but still slightly rock and roll.I offer him the banquette to sit on. “So I see the seating plan was arranged in advance, was it?” he asks with mock seriousness and a raised eyebrow. He laughs. It is a flash of that Lennon wit.He has not always had an easy relationship with the press and he readily admits his preference would be to not give interviews at all. Despite this, he is a chatty, open, funny and seems completely at ease. Indeed the Welsh rarebit he orders is somewhat neglected as Lennon is quite a conversationalist. http://www.express.co.uk/features/vi...of-the-shadows The Hollywood Reporter March 29, 2012 Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder's 'Ebony and Ivory': A History of the Hit 30 Years After Its Release Recording sessions in the West Indies, a spliced-together music video, "Saturday Night Live's" hilarious spoof starring Eddie Murphy and Joe Piscopo -- THR looks at why the 1982 chart-topper was a pop culture milestone. One was a member of the most popular band of the 1960s; the other was arguably the most acclaimed singer-songwriter of the ’70s. The sub went up for auction in tandem with a guitar signed by none of than Sir Paul McCartney himself, though it appears that a collector has already snatched it up to the tune of $58,000.*The Beatles lover's submarine may look like its cartoony counterpart, but it's actually a formerly fully working submersible. April 10, 2012 The Beatles Called It Quits 42 Years Ago Today All good things must come to an end, and this was never more true in the world of rock and roll than it was forty two years ago today (April 10, 1970) when it was announced that the the Beatles were no more. The tale of the breakup of the Beatles is a long and, well, winding road. The band had begun to implode for a while. When manager Brian Epstein passed away in 1967, the first cracks were showing.
