Yup it always comes down to the almighty dollar, which isn't going to be worth jack we keep going the way we have been.
As for a "foothold in the middle east," we already had one with our bases in Saudi Arabia and Turkey. We also send an awful lot of money to Israel and they have nuclear weapons.

I know, and this war did NOT give us a foothold, unless standing in quicksand counts.

I told him just that about the dollar. Guess what he said? Dems always say that and Bill Clinton likes to take credit for the stellar economy that was really due to dot coms which had nothing to do with him, blah blah... Like that has anything to do with Dubya ruining this economy? Except to say that if BC wasn't responsible for the upswing then GWB isn't responsible for the downturn. Dubya isn't responsible for anything that's gone wrong because he doesn't make mistakes, he never takes blame for anything and it is maddening.

Anyhow, my point was this guy's money would be worthless but I don't think he could even let his mind "go there" since he changed the subject to Bill. See why I was so pissed? Hehe.

Yup. The blame Clinton meme is a classic sign of listening to Hannity, Rush, etc.
The falling dollar is a direct result of the huge deficit, which is a direct result of W's insane tax custs. No two ways around it.
