Unhappy A few more...

grey hairs have appeared after yet another DR. visit for my ongoing throat problem (Now a possible and very serious stomach condition)...

I will have to undergo a procedure to have a scope put down my esophagus that will go into the top of my stomach (Thank God I will be under anesthesia) to see how bad the narrowing is (Which we now know is the worse at the junction where my esophagus connects to my stomach...It is too abnormal to be as narrow as it is.) and dialate the area to remove the scar tissue and possibly reduce the swelling. At the same time the DR. will take biopsies to check to see if I could possibly have cancer (Gee, A familiar word in this household as of late...)

yeah well... the bottle said "temporary" which would make you think it would wash out in a week or so, right? well back then, my hair was a LOT lighter, growing up in southern california and playing waterpolo and going to the beach all the time... and that **** f*cking STAINED my hair... i went to a color specialist who showed me this diagram of what happened... my hair was wet, the little scale like thingies on my strands of hair (you know, how they show you on the panteen commercials) all opened up, sucked in the red coloring, and then closed up... and stained each strand to the core.... they gave me this solution of heavy conditioner and peroxide to soak my hair in... and it still took 3 months to get it all out.

i did it on the last day of school sophomore year with my best friend... somehow, hers washed out in a week. i barely had normal hair in time for school to start... and going to a strict catholic school... well... pink hair was NOT allowed...

here's a pic of it... about a month after it was done... just terrible... i looked like some punky kid...

by Wednesday next week when they will perform the scope/biopsy (My DR. today decided to refer me to a DR. in OKC because it is best to do both procedures at once since otherwise I would need to go under anesthesia on 2 occassions which could be possibly risky)...As long as they don't schedule it on the 16th I will be alright, Gotta get the Fleetwood Mac concert craze outta my system that day

Awww 15 year old Jess!

3 months?!?

That reminds me of the time in 8th grade we thought it would be fun to dye things using kool aide. Well, I'm a wuss..I was a non-participant BUT I did help dye my friend Karla's hair (and my hands). It literally took over a year for the color to come out of her hair. She had one big strand of red hair. Needless to say, kool aide was never touched again.

I had the scope thing done about five years ago. The great thing is that they knock you out so you don't remember it. The bad part is that for some reason they wait to knock you out until after you've had a look at the scope and you see all that tubing and you think "They're putting that where & how?" Not pretty. It sort of felt like I had a sore throat afterwars for a couple of hours--nothing major. Obviously though, your situation is a lot more serious than mine which turned out to be an ulcerated esphoagus (sp?). Anyway, I hope that it goes very well with you and that you get to Rock Out to the Mac on the 16th!

As a joke on me the week before the senior prom my date dyed her blond hair black. She foolishly used stuff that's supposed to be used on grey hair, so in a couple of days her hair turned dark green. The day of the prom her hair had to be stripped.

Remember Stevie's red and green streaks in the RAL days?

Yeah, as a rule, it never pays to look at the doctor's tools, but you just can't help it.
