Ah, oh well. At least you tried. You just couldn't handle its infinite nature.

Love that movie. I think I'll watch it tomorrow...

I thought all of the scenes with Jude Law were hysterical. His character was such a delightful dick. "Kafka?! He's planting garbage for us." And the scene with Talia Shire was a riot, too.

If you liked it, you should really get the two-disc DVD. The deleted scenes are great, especially the one where Hoffman admits to Tomlin that his guide is Caterine. They cut out an entire part of their backstory, the three of them had originally been in a threesome relationship.

The Deleted and behind the scenes scenes, I enjoyed as much as the movie. But I'm just kinda like that. And you know what? I sensed some weird threesome thing in the script. When I was watching that movie, I had a LARGE sense that some important things had been deleted... That's why I think of it more as a lark - I didn't think it was exceptionally deep (more like, medium deep) but it could've been a bit deeper....I, of course, took more deep things away from it...but I don't think it was as explicit as it could've been, in that way - I tend to think of it more as a light comedy...

I take it as a light comedy. It's nothing too deep or hard to comprehend, it's essentially a farce dressed up as something only intellectuals would like when it's truly anything but. I'm convinced that David O. Russell toyed with it to drive a lot of the viewers nuts. But I? Adore it. I wasn't sure when I saw it in the theater, but it's firmly planted in my top ten list now. It opened my eyes as to how fabulous Jude Law is and reinvigorated my love for Lily Tomlin.
