"Mirror, Mirror" & "Julia"
Both of these songs played on my iPod at various points throughout the day, yesterday.
I may very well be in the minority here, but I don't think Stevie needs to touch these two songs, and I'm SO GLAD they didn't make it on to 24KG! They are already finished, mixed and mastered with polished music, vocals and overdubs. I could see "Julia" making it onto a "Bella Donna" expanded edition sometime in the future and of course we already got "Mirror, Mirror" as the "Blue Denim" B-Side. I dunno ~ in just three and a half short years, the "Enchanted" boxed set will be 20 years old! 20 YEARS OLD! CRAZY!!! Undoubtedly it will be time for another Stevie boxed set to be put in the works (5 or 6 discs, hopefully) with material from TISL, IYD, Soundstage and 24KG and whatever else she might put out to be included. I think if she were to do a disc or two of rare stuff (like disc 3 on "Enchanted") then "Julia" and "Mirror, Mirror" would be perfect for something like that. I just think both those songs are personified perfection and she doesn't need to touch them or try to make them "better". Just my opinion. Thoughts? |
