Well, Mick was announced as part of Lindsey’s new album in late February/early March, 1996. The dissolution of Fleetwood Mac was officially announced in April, 1996 (Dave Mason’s bass player told me on March 31, 1996).

We knew in April that Stevie and Lindsey had a new song coming out for the “Twister” soundtrack.

Mick, John, Christine, and Stevie were at the Kentucky Derby on the weekend of May 4, with (ironically) Steve Winwood filling in for Lindsey Buckingham.

Twister came out on May 10.

As for the song, Mick was on drums and Federico Pol was on bass, so it was before John was involved. I’m guessing it was recorded in February, 1996.

I was looking for Time recording sessions pictures. Didn't find one yet. But the search led me to this video, that I already commented in this thread, but I think I hadn't watch it entirely. I did it this time.

My thoughts are that it was a good show. Cool songs, Bekka’s voice is very good, etc. However watching Bekka and Dave there, and listening songs I never heard, probably Dave’s solo songs, or Traffic’s, confirms that it makes me feel I’m watching a tribute band, in spite of Billy is there and leads the show. I mean I see Billy and associate his presence with previous Mac tours, and I see Mick and John there, too. But that is not enough to make me feel I’m watching Fleetwood Mac. I watch World Turning with Mick’s solo include, but I can’t help but think Hey where’s Christine? Where’s Lindsey?

And I know that the occasion may have warranted it, but I never imagined watching Fleetwood Mac singing Auld Lang Syne. Thank’s God they didn’t play Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (yes it woke up my sarcasm side).

So finally, new voices, too many non-Mac songs, it feels more like a tribute act. Cool to watch it in YouTube, but I wouldn’t pay more than $50 to see them live. And definitely if I went it wouldn’t be in New Year’s Eve.

I've got 2-4 at home. I'll try to remember to look when I get home this evening.

This has always intrigued me. I’ve never seen any video or photos of this lineup or event. Does anyone know why Lindsey didn’t participate, whose idea it was to ask Steve Winwood to step in, and what the set list was?

It boggles my mind to imagine Winwood playing with the Mac!
