If you disagree with what I said, that is your right. What I said was my opinion, along with fact. The only difference between Buck/McVie and Nicks is that she is playing bigger venues. Is that wrong? No, simply a fact. So why does that upset you that I said that?

Why so sensitive about it? I'm not saying she's better than them. Inflaming opinions? Really? Because I pointed that out? I do think it's very interesting that 24 Karat Gold bombed, but her tour a year later is so successful. Shocking, really, I think most people were surprised, including Stevie.

And now we're left with...well, THAT. I loved her back when she had some substance.

Bloviate is a good word.

Now that I've used the dictionary and know what it means...yes I agree, it's a great word!

I'd never undermine her talent but anyone who acts like she doesn't owe a great deal of her popularity just to her image/visual aspect is delusional. It doesn't make her any better or worse than Lindsey or Christine.
To each their own, I guess. Some fans think she's the most important member of the band because she's the only one who achieved a somewhat decent solo career, and what do they use to measure that? Her ability to fill arenas.

I'm probably getting off topic here but a lot has been said about people's jealousies, especially Lindsey's, of Stevie's commercial popularity. Jealousy is normal imo and to be expected but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that some people probably just don't think Stevie is all that talented. It's not like she's Joni Mitchell or has the voice of Linda Ronstadt. Stevie can't play an instrument, a lot of her demos sound very similar because she knows like 3 chords, she can't really produce a song on her own etc. And like everyone else, she has a lot of great songs but also a lot of duds. And her lyrics can get a bit silly to some people. It probably bugs people that someone who technically isn't the most talented musician managed to get so much popularity, a lot from putting on a chiffon dress and twirling around and talking about the moon.
Oh, I never denied the fact that it bugs me a lot. She's exactly the kind of person you have described and yet she achieved a popularity noone can deny just by doing those three stupid things you mentioned at the end, when in fact she had the opportunity to learn and do so much more. Wasn't Lindsey the one who once said he didn't understand how people love her so much just by playing the tambourine and twirling around?

It must have been quite a show. Would have loved to see her live.

After Wild Heart, you know what happened with her. We watched the same band during the same time. She just changed.

Yes, he said it. I know I read it as a quote on a magazine with a photo of the band, and I remember thinking how mean he was. With time I changed my mind.

Or maybe I'm quoting Carol Ann "quoting" Lindsey.

I guess I will have to find that magazine on my archives..

Let me know if you find anything. If Lindsey had said anything like that, it would have been the subject of much discussion, much as him teasing her about taking the mic off the stand or comparing them to lounge acts or asking her questions he would not ask Bob Dylan was.
