Default New 3CD BBC Recordings

I saw an add from CDXPress in the UK talking about a 3CD FM at the BBC set, which they say will be out the end of Sept. Is this right, is it different from the 2CD set from a few years ago. Anybody know the tracklist?

I see this set is listed on Amazon UK as well:

Fleetwood Mac at the BBC [BOX SET]
Audio CD (September 27, 2004)
Number of Discs:3
Label: Sanctuary
ASIN: B0002QPTOE
Catalogue Number: SMXBX109

No tracklist, though.

Though i do think it's great that Sanctuary are doing all of these Mac related releases lately, the one thing I hate about them is their refusal to release tracklistings or recording sources before releasing them!

Hopefully someone will find out info on this one soon from somewhere and post it.

Oh, sounds nice!
I hope there will be lots of unreleased BBC material, not the "Live at the BBC" versions

Thanks for posting. I will be keeping an eye on this. I checked the Sanctuary website & they're still listing the old 2 CD version of Live at the BBC. Hopefully, we'll get a hold of the track listing. I'm not buying this until I know what is actually on this box set.

Just like you I really hope about some unreleased material, but sadly, I think it is the double Castle Communication cd, plus one cd maybe featuring stuff from "Show-Biz Blues", I mean the 9 April 1970 Radio One In Concert.

But this time I hope I'm wrong.

Mario.

CD Universe has a release date of October 25th. Amazon U.K. still has a release date of Sept. 27th. Also, it looks like it's a bit cheaper on Amazon-approximately $30.52 in U.S. dollars plus shipping.

Talking

Hello everybody!

Glad, to see that I was wrong about the 3cd BBC Recordings: I just had a quick phone talk with Martin Celmins and he told me he wrote the sleeve notes and -great news- there are lots of unreleased tracks!

He also confirmed that the box set has been posponed and will not go out next Monday.

Mario.

That's great news. Thanks, Mario. Is there any chance of us seeing the track listing of the CDs?

I hope so, and I agree.

Mario, when MC says "unreleased", does he mean "not released before in ANY "legal" way"? I just fear that we may have many of the tracks already via tracks 1-5 on disc one (not the "Intro..." obviously but...) on "Vaudeville years", tracks 5-9 on disc one of the 2 CD/1 DVD "Madison blues" and/or tracks 4-13 (and possibly track 19) on "Show biz blues" (not to mention tracks 3-10, disc 2 on SBB which as you've rightly said are obviously from the 4/9/70 Beeb sessions).

Though I do appreciate that Martin has been so forthcoming to you with this kind of information, I must admit that I often find his liner notes to these packages vague in terms of what the sources are for the recordings enclosed on these packages (naturally I'm thrilled to have them but further info would be very helpful).

Aurally, they sound like BBC tracks to me so I'm just assuming and could be wrong, but I don't want to buy this new one if I have them already.

So please do elaborate on this if you could, that would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.

John

Well, John, must say that your fears are mine as well.........

Of course you are right about all those tracks both from "Vaudeville Years" and "Showbiz-Blues"; they are BBC tracks which Martin stated as promotional numbers .........but not to me on the phone where he gladed admitted they are Radio recordings!

But........there are still a number of BBC recordings never released on official albums, so maybe Martin was talking about them when I spoke with him on the phone yesterday night.

Having said that, I think it's fair to say that Martin's sleeve notes are fantastic and obviously a work from his heart!

Stay always Green!

Mario.

Thanks Mario, here's hoping, and yeah don't get me wrong, I do like what MC has written in the liner notes he has done on those packages regarding the other stuff (just to be clear), but just wish there was more data on the content source. I am glad that he confirmed to you on the phone that the tracks I listed were in fact BBC recordings. I had a hunch...
