Question 8/30/72 Gaelic Park Bronx NY?

I don't do boots myself but saw this listed in a list on a thread in the Rumours board:

FleetwoodMac1972-08-30GaelicParkBronxNY.asx

If this date is correct, this must be the Penguin era lineup and I don't think we've heard a live recording from them (outside of the Midnight Special deal).

Does anyone know if this is the real deal? If so, what's it like? What songs do they play?

Just curious.

John

John, it's a Bare Trees era show. This is the track listing that I have:

Fleetwood Mac – Gaelic Park, NYC, 8/30/72
Homeward Bound
The Green Manalishi
Future Games
Morning Rain
Trinity
Black Magic Woman
Oh Well

Question

Ah OK thanks, now that you say this, I recall a thread on here a while back wondering if this was the last show DK played with FM since it's always been reported that DK wasn't in the band any later than Aug '72 and Weston & DW joined in Sept '72 but I can't remember what we determined. Hmm...

Possible that there were more numbers that didn't make it onto the bootleg, but it sounds like it's a complete (though short) set so it's interesting that Danny was down to one of his own songs on this date. Earlier shows from '72 feature him on more of his own songs - in fact all the other '72 shows on bootleg open with "Tell Me All The Things You Do" and all feature "Child Of Mine". Some also include "Woman of 1,000 Years" and/or "Trinity" as well. Seems like a sign that he was well on his way out by the time of the Gaelic Park show.

Mick Fleetwood's book mentions firing Danny in August '72, but he could be off on the exact timing. He also notes in the book that Walker and Weston did not perform with the band until a Scandinavian tour that fall, following a month of rehearsals.

It is very perlexing that we don't have any live shows from the Penguin era or the Mystery To Me era.

I guess we should be grateful that at least we have some shows from the Kiln House, Future Games, Bare Trees and Heroes Are Hard to Find eras.

There may have been more songs on this date, but this setlist features a number of pretty long songs. There's only one Danny song, but there's also only one Bob Song. Christine has two, but Danny and Bob split the vocals on the three Green ones.

Still, I can't imagine an early 70s setlist without Get Like You Used to Be.
