And thanks again to John for posting it!

And listen that other John (the one on bass) go! Chris' vocal is just perfect on this performance*, and that coda, while a little slow at the gate, builds into something really beautiful.

*Did they ever perform this in 1975? I'd love to hear Chris doing that harmony with either Lindsey or Stevie.

Not in '75, but in the early phases of the Rumours tour in '77. (it replaced "Spare Me A Little" in the "basic set")

They did perform it live during the early 1977 shows. There are also several Rumours rehearsal bootleg recordings of it as well.

I have to say, though, they really slowed it down too much with Stevie and Lindsey. I still say the best live version of the song is from the Record Plant 1974 show. Bob kicked ASS!

I love their 1977 performances of this song. They really Buckingham/Nicks-ed it up. Stevie harmonizing on "What can you say to accuse me" really adds a lot to the song.

Hint: Note the folding lid.

That is lovely. I'd never heard it before. I also really want to hear Stevie on it; the harmony is wonderful. Yes, I really like this song. John's part makes me excited.

Yeah, but she's REALLY straining on those higher notes, BARELY getting there.
AND, she always has to get the last note in. You DON'T do that, singing harmony.

Yea I did notice the straining...Can you imagine if they tried to do that song today...in that key!

I don't think we have to worry about that happening now days.

My favorite live version of "Believe Me" is this Midnight Special version, largely because of Bob Weston's guitar into. My second favorite is 1974 Sausalito with Bob Welch. I also like the 1977 Rumours line-up live versions, just not as much as the others.
