Well, luckily songs don't have "use by" date. Is 2017 now the estimate date for album? I assumed it could be done and out in 2016.

It's criminal. Lindsey and Christine would just sit there for 2 years rather than finding some other way to release their music. And while Lindsey may do something solo once the band is off the road, I want to hear Christine's songs too. They aren't going to find any way to get their music out before 2017??

Seriously, Mick used to be the most easy-going member of the band and even he had his limits. Lindsey, Christine and John didn't have tolerant personalities at all, but now they're just ... ugh.

I disagree. Music can spoil if you don't release it in the time it is supposed to be released. The artist may not even be inspired by it, anymore.

I think he's using this as a time frame buffer and hope it will be sooner.

2 years?????? They don't have two years. They are getting much older, if they didn't notice. This tour is all about the money. They can't possibly want to tour for a year to restate their body of work. They said that during The Dance and then no album.

Exclamation

It's just so they can say they have been "active as a band for 50 years" which is a joke.

Did anyone honestly and truly believe we were actually going to get an album in 2015? I never did for a minute. That's just not how this band works. At least not in the last 30+ years.

However, I am still sure there will be an album. 2017 would be perfect, actually. It'd give them all time to work out any new material as a group; not just work in splintered pairs. Obviously it would coincide with the 40th anniversary of Rumours, too. That would seem an appropriate time for the band to make their final album and tour.

It's been a dozen years since Say You Will; 28 since Tango. What's a couple more years?

this is how this "band" works as far as LB goes, since 2000:

2001 - waiting for SN to do FM
2002 - waiting for SN to do FM
2003 - SYW
2006 - UTS
2008 - GOS
2009 - waiting for SN to do FM
2010 - waiting for SN to do FM
2011 - SWS
2012 - waiting for SN to do FM
2012 - This is 40
2013 - EP
2014 - waiting for SN to do FM
2015 - waiting for SN to do FM

the years they / he toured? at least some of the time it was because SN didn't want to record with FM (2009, 2012, extremely likely timing of 2014/2015 too). and it's not like they cannot record while on tours, it's that "politically" they cannot agree to do it during the tour.

as a group?????? do you really and truly believe this?

you think SYW or EP was splintered? just wait for this one, if it ever comes out!

album that had at least 2 false starts that we know of already, trying to build it from ground up, as a group? and that will maybe somehow get SN on board under who knows what conditions she will put on her participation?? not splintered? from ground up, all together? right.

now if SN doesn't participate in the end and they do put it out anyway? that has a good chance to be a cohesive album.

Nooooooooo.....
Why wait? they should just get this material out now.
If Stevie wants to re-join then there's nothing wrong with wrapping things up with a '50 years of Fleetwood Mac/40 years of Rumours' reunion album in 2017 but that can all be brand new material written in 2016/17.

Grrrrrrr. They must be so frustrated.

Maybe they should just release some of what they have as singles- one a month and then put them all together on an album at the end.

I totally agree with you. As long as they all stay alive, we've got nothing to worry about...

I think regarding Stevie Nicks it will only ever be splintered regardless of the timeline.
