Why - Midnight Special

I just watched a video of "Why" on YouTube from The Midnight Special and was wondering if this exists in mp3 form anywhere? I love the ending harmonies with Christine, Stevie and Lindsey and am only familiar with the album version of the song. I'm really interested in any version of the song with the three of them, if it exists, especially with the sound on this video being a little distorted. Thanks!

someone on here gave it to me in mp3 form about 2 years ago, i think. Its still on my iPod...I wish there was some way to get it to ya! The quality isnt that great though.

You're in luck. There are about four dozen recordings of "Why" with the Nicks configuration from King Biscuit to Trod Nossel to Rumours rehearsals to tour performances, even four or five video clips of it. (It used to be a set staple.)

Thanks for the info! I noticed this song was on quite a few setlists, just wasn't sure if any recordings with that lineup existed. Quite encouraging to know!

I'll try to post some of the live versions of "Why" that I have during the next few days. I've just been a bit busy & I don't check the Ledge as much as I used to. By the way, I don't have an mp3 of the Midnight Special version, just the video clip.

I actually found some live shows to download a few pages back in the Rumours forum, including some that had this song on it, so I think I am set. Particularly loving the one from Wallingford (so close to my hometown it drives me nuts), the balance of the harmony is gorgeous. Thanks again!

Yeah, that entire Wallingford show is great. I especially like Why, as you mentioned, Get Like You Used to Be, and Over My Head, which also has excellent harmonies on it.

A friend had that bootleg on a record and made me a cassette tape years and years ago. That was my only copy of it until this summer, when Michelle graciously posted 1001 live performances in the Rumors forum.

Here's "Why" from one of the tour rehearsals, Feb. 26, 1977. It says "LOUD" because one of my list friends boosted the volume using an audio-editing program.
