"Official" Message Boards

I hate “official” message boards for artists. I don’t know why I even bother posting on them. I like this board because you can pretty much say why you think about the group without being banned or censored.

I’m a big fan of Hall & Oates & have been for years. Utter chaos has broken out over at the Hall and Oates “official” website. I wasn’t a regular poster on their boards. You’d always have to watch what you say; you couldn’t talk about certain things. But be that as it may, I liked to read it anyway. Well they fired the website administrator. (If you weren't a member of their "All Access Club", you didn't get her e-mail telling everybody.) I wasn’t best buds with her or anything, but it just seems cold. Told her due to “budget” restraints, they were going to have to let her go. (Yeah, Daryl & John are very poor, Daryl has two or three houses.) Of course, people on the boards were furious & demanded that she be reinstated. Rumors started going around that the message board would go next. People were scrambling to put message boards together. And not only this, there is a rumor that this may be Hall & Oates swan song this year. They are not officially touring this year though they have some concert dates together (I’m going to a show on April 19th) & have separate solo projects going on; John has another solo album coming out. On Monday, I’m on their “official” message board wishing John a happy birthday (He’s 59, btw.), & two days later, their message board is gone! They are “retiring” it! And apparently there was a chat room & they pulled the plug on it when people were in there chatting! John & Daryl have had to know what’s going on. Do they not care about their fans? I am really upset with this whole situation, so upset in fact that I told my husband, this may be the last time I see them in concert, together or solo, though I love their music!

i've been out of touch ... if something doesn't happen soon that board will be for private eyes only i can't go for that.

That's complete BS. Who knows what happened behind the scenes but pulling it that way was like a slap in the face to fans and must have felt as such.
