The Grim Reaper sure has been busy lately. It's being reported that Mays was hit in the head last night during a hard landing of a US Air flight landing in Tampa. I'm wondering if it was something along the same line as Natasha Richardson.
Meanwhile the Cronkite family has released a statement: "In order to dispel false rumors, Walter Cronkite's family wants it known that he has apparently suffered for some years with cerebrovascular disease and he is not expected to recuperate. He is resting comfortably at home with family, friends, and a wonderful medical team. We thank you for your prayers and good wishes." |

I was shocked to hear this one too. Billy must have sold more products than anyone else on TV. I just saw him on TV recently, so this is very strange. TV commercials won't be the same without him.

That's crazy. I saw him on Conan just the other day.

I think this is so sad...Like Jackson, he wasn't very old at all.

That'll learn 'im! Should never try to make infomercials for Jacko's ablums.

I like the gal -- the rather plump, older gal -- who does her hair mid '60s, & generally sells devices for the kitchen that enable the busy consumer to chop, dice, fry, bake, or otherwise prepare quick & easy appetizers, entrees, & desserts.
Her voice is kind of squeaky, high-pitched. Her "assistant" in the infomercials -- typically a plump middle-aged man -- only stands there & tastes a bite of everything she cooks. That's his job, I guess.

If it makes you feel any better, he was beat up by a prostitute last month.

I enjoy the ShamWow guy's SlapChop commercial. "You're gonna love my nuts!" he says.
And "Stop having a boring tuna! Stop having a boring life!" he says. They have ShamWows on sale at the Wal-Mart now. I am always tempted to buy one.
