Question YOUR Favorite Lindsey guitar solo

So what's your favorite Lindsey Buckingham guitar solo? Mine, I would have to say is from the Rumours version of "The Chain." The simplicity of it, the tone...it gives me goosebumps to this day, every time I hear it.

My 2nd runners up are: I'm So Afraid from The Dance, Go Your Own Way from Rumours, This is the Time from Out of the Cradle, Come from Live in Boston, Murrow Turning Over in His Grave from SYW, and of course Big Love from the Dance (its one big guitar solo)

I agree with those.

I'm adding the ending to Gypsy.

That's my favorite part of the song.

I like the ones already mentioned. ISA from The Dance is probably my favorite.

"Gypsy"
"Don't Let Me Down Again"
"Frozen Love"

Also, the one on "Family Man." <3333 It's the only part of the song I like but it's a great part!

These are good choices!

I'll add those in:
Go your own way,
Play in the rain,
Ending of bleed to love her on SYW.

Oh and i'll turn in the ISA_Dance-solo ANYTIME for the one on "live 1980" OR Live in Boston. On the Dance he is too much in control: this solo has to turn into a pitbull......

Wink

Yeah the ending to Gypsy is great. I much prefer the extended version which appears on The Chain boxed set.

I also dig the ending to Bleed to Love Her on SYW. It's very pretty, and easy to play. It has some sort of backwards delay going on there or something.

Some of my favourites that haven't been mentioned yet:

"Deep Dense" (it's like a fanfare, by gum)
"Loving Cup" (oozes threatening atmosphere)

Introduction to "Oh Daddy" (live 1977-1980)
"Hold Me"
"I Know I'm Not Wrong" (a great sense of relief)
"Sisters Of The Moon" (on a good Tusk tour night)

etc, etc.

Wink All of 'em

My faves are:

ISA (any version, but with The Dance, even though I think he's done better and crazier solos, this version is the very first ISA I heard/watched on the Dance video I got off Ebay waaaaaay back in 2001 as a newbie fan. He blew my mind and I watched him in awe.)

Isn't It Midnight (I freakin' love this song and his solo kicks)

Doing What I Can (At minute 3:32 - 3:36, I get chills everytime I hear that part. It's really not that spectacular, I'm sure, to most people, but I adore that part.)

GYOW (On Rumours only)

Come (any version, but Live in Boston kicks)

Go Insane (The Dance kicks, but I am in love with the NYC and Philadelphia versions from the OOTC tour....that midieval thing he did....greatness)

The Chain (Mirage concert....when I'm home alone, those speakers get almost blown out and my neck gets sore from headbanging. LOL)

Murrow (Hoping and praying he does this one on tour!! PLEASE!!!)

Welcome to the Ledge, Bwana! I love that song too!

Isn't It Midnight
Blue Letter

the amalgamation that became the end solo on Go Your Own Way
You Make Loving Fun
Monday Morning
(only because he's playing slide)
Intro to Don't Look Down
Family Man

2nd solo on Trouble
the solo he did at the end of Countdown on David Letterman back in 93.

This is a great rare gem. The fantastic thing about this over the top minute long solo, is he had not played live in 3 years or so before this, not too mention how often on tightly timed network TV does someone get to go off on a solo like this?
