Default You Tube HELP!!

I am trying to upload a video to YouTube from last night's show. The file is too big over 300MB. Does anyone know how to edit a video or another site that I can use?

No sites will let you go over 300, as far as I know. I could give editing them a try if you want, though!

what resolution is the video? if it's larger than youtube's videos' resolution, you could try reducing the res. of your video. if you have itunes, you can convert the videos to m4v (youtube's recommended format) and it'll also lower the res to youtube's recommended res.

Well, if you use a PC with windows, it should have a free program called Windows Movie Maker. Its under Start->All Programs->Accessories and possibly-> Entertainment. Once you open the program, you click "Import video" and find the file. After that the file will show up in the big white space, and you drag it down to the timeine. Then, to crop parts of it, you click on the right end of the video on the timeline, and drag it back to the time you want to crop it at.

Then, you go to "Save to computer" on the side bar on the left (I think.) That should work. I haven't used WMM in a long time, though. So I could be wrong.

I am at a loss. The file is QuickTime. I am not sure that I can edit that with the Windows Movie Maker.

I just downloaded Itunes. It just seems to be a store. How do I edit the videos?

Arrow Hmm...

Doesn't MegaUpload or YouSendIt allow huge files? I say try to use Windows Movie Maker to cut the video into parts.

I'm pretty dumb about technical stuff though.

Youtube allows a max of 100 mb per clip (or 10 minutes, I think)
Same amount for Google video. Seems like they have a program you can use to upload vids that are larger than 100 mb, but I couldn't tell you how it works, just try it out.

OK first of all Windows Movie Maker does not support the file which is in MOV format so that option is out.
I was able to view the file in Itunes but it does not give me any option to change the size.
I uploaded the file to YouSendIt and it takes about 4 hours to download with a broadband connection.
There has to be another way to do this.

if you've added the file to your itunes library, you should be able to right click it and choose "convert selection for ipod." that will convert it to an m4v at the correct resolution.

OK, I did do that but it is still saying that file size is 356MB. The best that I can do for now is to put on Yousendit and hope that someone can resize the file and send it back to me so that I can try to upload it again to YouTube.
