I believe it's a hooka pipe, not a lamp. I've always loved this photo, I wish she'd do more outrageous photo shoots like this.

Yes. Details magazine w/ full page picture of umbrella & hookah shot, summer 1994 w interview - I still have my copy . I was so shocked when I saw THIS portrait! It almost didn't even look like Stevie to me. That's how different in composition & execution this was. It's worthy of an album cover (if the title wasn't Street Angel ) And I would kill for a poster of this photo! Too bad she didn't use some of these shots over the bland (pale pink) by comparison SA cd photo's that were used (I blame Chris Nicks...someone needs to take the fall) Thank Gawd Stevie & the Mac used LaChapelle for The Dance photo shoot, which was also different, yet hauntingly familiar.

Yes, I LOVE the barefoot pictures! One of those should have been the SA cover absolutely imo, much more organic & befitting of the album title and stripped down musical stylings of that record

I totally agree Christopher...she looks so beautiful in those shots but in a very pure, stripped down sort of way. I have the second color poster but I've seen searching for the first black and white one forever!!
