Peter Green and Lindsey Buckingham on RS's Greatest Guitarist Page
On the landing page of RollingStone.com is their new 250 Greatest Guitarists.
Peter is up there pretty high at #62. Lindsey is at #110. Mike Campbell and Joe Walsh are lower than Lindsey in the list. Rick Vito, Billy Burnette, Neil Finn, and Bruce Springsteen didn't make the list. |

So Lindsey is falling? Did not Rolling Stone have the top 50 best guitarists a few years ago and he was #50?

Yes, he has fallen from #100 to #110. This list is much more inclusive and diverse so I would have thought he would have not even made it given there are 150 more guitarists on this list than the last one. I mean Bruce, Rick, Billy, Neil, and Ronnie Wood aren't on this list but Lindsey made it. I'm surprised.

I’m not surprised at all really. Maybe Rick could have just about scraped in, but the rest…..no way. The only reason Rick was recruited is because billy isn’t a great guitarist. He’s good, but not great.
Neil Finn is a great all-round musician and a first rate songwriter. But as a guitarist….he might get into top 500

For context, even Knopfler and Clapton are only ranked 96 and 35 respectively.
At least Joni broke the top 10. Quote:
